bf % loss + weight gain

ok so per drs orders due to some medical stuff i have begun eating more calories...i also changed up my weight lifting to 5x5s ub one day lower body next, only cardio wed, THEN ub, next lower body then only cardio sat and rest on sun. ive felt a difference but havent seen one.
so my trainer did a body fat thing on me...i gained 2 lbs :( but lost 1.75% bf in 2 weeks. however, he said that wasnt a significant change and that i need to cut my calories back again which i cant do. so...can someone please confirm for my sanity that 1.75% bf change is a significant number? what is average? i swear it is more cuz last time he took the calipers to me i had a tank on so i know he was just pinchng skin and this time i had a tshirt/sports bra on and he was grabbing that. anyway :)

thank you for your advice.

ps my calories are now 1500...i do cardio 6 days a week. weihts in splits 4 days.

As funny and SAD as it is, doctors and registered dietitians don't always know what they are talking about. Point in case my last doctor didn't know about the difference between good and bad fats...not kidding. Finding a good doctor is very important and to me this one doesn't sound like a good one. That is actually great results. No you should not lower your calories, keep up with good strength training and some cardio, eat healthy whole foods and personally I would switch doctors.

Oh okay sorry i mis-read that ha though the point still stands. Yeah really those are standard BUT GOOD results to get at your point. Most personal trainers want money, point blank. If they starve their clients and train them poorly then what usually happens is some intital weight (not necessarily fat) is lost. Then the client plateaus and either quits thinking they've failed or pays more money to the trainer to starve them more and work them harder. Its a bad cycle and one to avoid. Keep up the good work and go by that mirror and clothes not by scales and measurements:)

Those are really good results. That PT needs to find another profession if he says they are not significant enough and wants you to starve yourself. Congrats and keep up the good work and keep them calories up.:D

thanks everyone for the encouragement...:)

ll loks like pt get a bad rap on here :) controversial topic lol :) but i can see the starve/little improvement affect working for most of them...especially at my gym were their bread and butter are the ladies who stay home with their kids...and trust their juedgement :)
