How does working out at different times of the day effect your weight loss? I eat at about 5pm workout at 7 and sleep at 9pm without eating anything else, I don't feel hungry either. I've read here often that people work out first thing in the morning before eating, what does that do?
I have had experiences with several different workout times. I have read several books/articles/magazines/etc that each has it's own opinion and reasons why this time or that time is best. Here is my opinion and the ideology behind each:
Wake up workout-Does well to elevate metabolism for the rest of the day. Idea-If you raise your metabolism as soon as you start your day, it will cause a metabolic increase throughout your whole day. Drawback-Not sure if the metabolic effect will remain higher throughout the day or if it will gradually return to its baseline.
Midday workout-No bonuses or negatives over the other two.
Pre-sleep workout-Raises metabolism just before you sleep. Idea-Metabolism declines at a fairly constant rate while you sleep, so if you raise your metabolism before you go to bed, then you will gradually raise your waking metabolism, thus raising your daily metabolism. Drawback-Trying to go to sleep right after a workout.
Please realize, this is just from what I have read and does not, in ANY way mean that I am right. This just seems to be the layman's way of looking at it, and I am a layman, so it fits for me. If anyone has any info proving/disproving these ideas, please let me know. Personally, I work out a few hours before I go to sleep.
