Best time to weigh

I have always been told/read that the best time to weigh yourself is first thing in the morning after using the restroom and before drinking/eating anything. In some ways this makes sense, but if I am not going to remain that weight all day I really don't weigh that, right? Anyone know anything about this?

Well your lowest weight is going to be in the morning because you wake up dehydrated, after not consuming fluids for 8 hours. Getting a lower weigh in, for many of us, is a motivating factor to continue pursueing successful weight loss.
 
Well, but it`s not exactly the right weight... because as soon as you eat you will weight more. I weight any time of day, but I`m just atking into account the food I ate recently, that`s all. If you weight several times a day, you may know your real weight more or less.
 
Doctors tell you to weight yourself naked first thing in the morning, BEFORE going to the washroom...This is your true weight because as one of the other posters said, your body is dehydrated from not consuming fluids while your asleep. The second reason this is the best time is because your body is in full rest...If you weight yourself every morning you will have a continous true weight and you should see that you're losing weight - if your trying to lose weight - whereas if you weight yourself at different times of the day you will notice the difference...Hope this was helpful...

What time of day do you weigh yourself?

Normally I check the scale every Sunday before I eat breakfast.
Are there certain times that are better for doing this? Or is it good enough if you set your own time?

I weigh in first thing in the morning and whenever I feel like it throughout the day. I do a 'formal' weigh-in on Mondays for my ticker and on Fridays for the competition.
 
with weighing in... to keep yourself motivated... you should weigh in at the same time on a regular schedule wearing the same thing (or nothing at all) that way you should see consistent results...
 
My doctor always says to weigh in first thing in the morning the same time every week. My weigh in time in always first thing (6:30 a.m.) on Friday mornings. Evidently you weigh more in the afternoons.

Weighing myself REALLY early.
Or Weighing myself around 8:00 p.m or so. (after my workout n such)

Eitherway you weigh yourself just base your weight off THAT

Even if your 180 in the morning and 183 at night.

Go off by 183 then =O (leasts that what I do)

I weigh myself like 12 times a day...lol...
Always in the morning, after every meal/snack, and throughout the day, then right before I go to sleep.

I'm a bit obsessed no? :p
 
I weigh officially friday mornings around 10:30ish, pre breakfast and post potty- wearing my birthday suit. :D
 
how often should I weigh myself?

I don't want to obsess over the number on the scale but every morning I have to see what i weigh! is this counter productive?
