Male, late 30's weight gained through change of job and general lack of motivation since having knee problems, job change, family life and all the other excues I can think of, determined to change my ways.

Height - 5' 10'', keen golfer but need more flexibility for the game.

START WEIGHT - 15 stone 8lb - GOAL WEIGHT - 12 stone 2lbs

Any help and advice greatly appreciated as it looks like a marathon from where I'm standing.

Food today - 50g cornflakes, 1/2pt skim milk, 4 x crackers with houmous, 2 x weight watchers bread slices, spread of butter, wafer thin ham 2 slices, onion relish. Low fat yog, grapes handful, slimfast shake. Bottle of babycham (don't laugh, won it at work). Slice a malt loaf.

I know I could have done a lot more exercise wise but need to get into the swing of this and mind set.

Have awoken this morning feeling really tuned into this now and the fact I have lost weight again today had really spurred me on. I can now visualise what I want and that is a major step to success. I am going away for a few days so will update upon my return.

Week 1 - 27/5/09 until 30/6/09 - weight loss 4lbs.
------------------------------------------------
Week 2 - 31/5/09 until 6/6/09 - no weights due to holiday.
--------------------------------------------------------

Have come back from holkiday today and unfortunately forgot to take the scales with me which means I have had a break in weighing. I feel I have done really well whilst away and have not over indulged much at all. I am confident that the work in week one will not have been in vain.

I shall recommence my daily updated from tomorrow.

05/06/2009 - 211.8LBS - 2.2LBS (No exercise)

Feel like I did better than I should have yesterday. I was very busy all day but had wine, quavers and a mcdonalds bagel breakfast and seemed to just be picking at food all day. So really pleased to have lost weight.

Today is a back to normal day after the holiday and will definitely be back on track with food and exercise.

Week 1 - 27/5/09 until 30/6/09 - weight loss 4lbs.
------------------------------------------------
Week 2 - 31/5/09 until 6/6/09 - weight loss 2.4lbs
------------------------------------------------

After having been on holiday I am really pleased to have lost some more weight this week. My diet is now much better than before the weight loss started which I am also pleased about. However I know if I want to get to my goal there are still many things I can do to ensure I achieve this. I believe in putting one thing in place at a time and then adding something else in the next week. So next week I am going to consciously start a simple floor exercise routine at home to loosen my body up.

07/06/09 - 211.4lbs - 0.2lbs

We literally go out once in a flash flood and last night was that night so I know it is another excuse but it has halted my progress again. The excuses are now finished and the real work begins. I don't like making predictions but I am confident I can get below the 15stone mark this week.

07/06/09 - 211.4lbs - 0.2lbs
08/06/09 - 209.4lbs - 2.0lbs

What a fantastic result yesterday have now got my head back on this after multitude of excuses. Feel like I did really well and I am so happy to be under the 15stone mark for the first time in too long. It has given me the lift and buzz I really need to keep going with this. What I am enjoying the most is not having to monitor everything but just generally thinking about what I eat and drink.

Great post Bents and you are right to be over the moon, its a stepping stone, milestone sometimes getting under a certain weight barrier. Mine is 11 stone, when I get below that I will be really chuffed and even more determined.

The key now is not to get complacent, don't lose sight, exercise is a must and if you incorporate just a little each day, what a difference it will make. Maybe you don't record your exercise on your diary but even 20 minutes a day, morning if possible will help to shift pounds and benefit you in many many ways.

Well done you and be proud. :hug2:

I can't believe how I have let it go and managed to put weight on in the past few days. I seem to have lost my motivation over the weekend.

This is a new day and I am determined to put this dampener behind me and really go for it from now on.

I would like to say thanks for the support from crazy and willlose60, it counts for so much knowing people are out there rouyting for you.

Doing great man! I personally wouldn't weight myself every day but if that works for you then go for it! And don't think to much about losing motivation, everyone does at some point. Just don't lose it for to long!

Hello Bents

Just remember its pretty early days still for you and if you are anything like me, your eating can be a little up and down, I guess thats why I am here and possibly why you are here too for help.

RadioActive is right, try not to lose motivation for too long, its counter productive. Pick yourself up and keep on going, think about what you are doing, what you are eating without over thinking. Have a plan for the day and try and stick to it if you can.

I find it helps me to have a vision of where I want to be, I know last summer I got to a great weight but because I clearly hadn't addressed my eating issue, I piled it back on. This time around I'm doing it the right way, learning new habits, learning that cravings dont just mean hunger, they can mean boredom, tiredness, stress other things. I don't just want to be where I was last summer, I want to be slimmer, fitter, slim makes me feel good and definitely a lot happier than where I am now.

Have a vision, have a goal and stick to it, good luck. :biggrinjester:

16/6/2009 - 209 - 0.6lbs

Thanks for the support guys it is much appreciated.

I have had a much better day and feel back on track once more. Going toi the gym this morning and having a sauna and jacuzzi afterwards. I am intending that feeling good and enjoying pushing myself will be a big motivation for me.
