Bent over rows VS chinups

heres the deal: if i work out monday i do rows; then next workout on wednesday i will do chinups. These two exercises are what i do for back/biceps and i alternate between workouts; but since chins tend to give me way more of a workout would it be smart to just throw out rows and put in chins instead?

chinups/pull ups are ideal for upper back development, mainly in the lats.

rows, both seated and bent over, work the lower lats and rhomboids to a greater degree.

so pull ups should be the 'meat and potatoes' for upper back, but you should rotate in bent over rows, seated rows, and even t-bar rows for optimal development, especially as you progress from 'beginner' to 'intermediate'.

if you do bendt over rows the pendlay rows way, the way bendt over rows should be preformed, its probobly the best exersice for the back.

scroll halfway down to a guy named "Karl"'s post, theone with the pictures, read that and ull get the idea. they are hard to do, but if you want to try it out, i recommend them.

I absolutely LOVE pullups. Even though I can't really do them 100% yet, there's something really erotic about them.

To add to this subject, How do pull/chin-ups compare to Lat pull-downs?

Lat pulldowns are the ugly cousin of the sensational chin ups. Which ever one you do, you're still in the family.

in bent over rows, seated rows, and even t-bar rows for optimal development; what are these. and for row2s, are you supposed to bend your knees that much?

According to "Strength Training Anatomy," BO Rows also work the Trapezius, Brachioradialis and Rhomboids muscles and a few others that chin-ups do not.
