belly fat

ive got just a little bit of belly fat, mostly around the love handle area, left until my abs totally come out. any quick ways of getting rid of it?

Im in the same boat as you.

The only way is cardio. Running, Jogging, Skipping.

And the main priority eating healthy.

I have been doing this for 1 week and a half; and have already started to see a difference.

Yep squats are good, but it will do more tonning then burning. You shpuldnt realy run for more then 20min as you will start burning of your abs muscle. 20min run will burn the fat around the abs.

Every pound of muscle that you add to your body will burn 35-50 calories per day while you are sitting at your desk and sleeping!

Your thighs and glutes combine to create the largest muscle groupings on your body.

How can you increase muscle mass in this area? Squats I tell ya.

Yes, cardio and diet are key... But, weight lifting is a key as well. Combine them all and become a fat burning machine!

Can jogging really get rid of the fat on your belly? i never knew that...thanks lol i have been doing sit ups but i guess thts just for the abs and not the fat. Well i need a good night sleep so i can wake up and jog lol

Guys...jogging for 20 minutes is not going to burn muscle. If you are working out and start burning muscle-you are already in a starvation mode. Lance Armstrong in his Tour De France did not start burning protein (or muscle) as a fuel source until the last couple days and this is a guy that's on his bike continuously for 12+ hours for days and days and days on end.

There was an old rule of thumb-20 minutes is carbs, 20-40 minutes are carbs and fats, 40+ minutes is fat but it's dependant on each individual. Swimming is a good alternative to other forms of cardio because it's easy on the joints and requires more work or energy expenditure, which equals more calories burned.

True, swimming is good... However, because water cools your body, one of the keys (thermogenesis) to fat burning does not happen. So, swimming is only a good alternative if you have problem joints or injuries... Otherwise, work yourself into a 2 degree body temp increase and really watch the fat melt away baby!

Most indoor pools are going to be at an optimal temperature. But despite the decrease in temperature, the body has to work harder causing a greater energy expenditure which leads to a greater amount of calories burned. The cold water also adds additional energy costs and the body has to work even harder than if the water was at an optimal temperature (82-86 degrees).

The reason for this greater energy cost is bouyance and drag force, which you don't get from running or jogging. It should also be mentioned that various muscles that normally wouldn't get worked will get worked during swimming. And the fact that swimming gives you four times (I was corrected by my exercise physiology professor) the amount of energy expenditure is a good recipe for more calories burned. I'm not saying swimming is the ultimate answer but if someone is looking for something different or needs something not so jarring on the joints, swimming is a good way to look.

Yes def doing squats and lifting waights are very good, as 'rip' said. This will burn calories even when you are not doing anything.

I still think RUNNING is the most effective method of loosing body (belly, waist, love handles, ass, thigh) fat.

Again swiiming is good, but it cools down the body. U want to stay hot and keep your heart rate up (180).

I have have learnt that running for more then 16 min will start to burn of muscle, which you dont want. Despite what any1 else says; i belive that is how it is..

But remember you really have to eat healthy.
