Believing In Yourself - an exercise

This was a diary entry but since I won't subject too many people to my whinings - let's go with a topic...

One of the features of Spark is daily emails - that if you read you email you collect spark points... some ofthe emails are food showdowns where they choose the lesser of two evils, others are exercises of the day or some interesting article... they also have healthy reflections -which are usually a little too cheesey for me...

Today's healthy reflection was timed about 5 days too late -it's what I've really been struggling with the past few weeks/months/ oh hell - years... and finally got myself going in the right direction -I forced myself to answer similar questions to these the other night when I was really struggling...

Believing In Yourself
Limitations can either define us or give us a challenge to outwit. When you look at your abilities, do you see boundaries and limits, or do you see possibilities and potential? Obsessing about weaknesses can blind us to the untapped abilities we already have. You have talent. Everyone does. The secret to success is to find that talent, develop it and push it as far as you can. Grandma Moses might have been a lousy bowler, Einstein probably couldn't sing a lick, Michelangelo could've been unable to speak well in public. So what? They knew what they were good at and rode that pony. Your talent might be right in front of you: where do you get the most compliments? What seems to come easily to you? What do people ask your advice for? Live there. Don't let the rest get in the way.

So for a discussion - name your talent and I know I've got a thread here something similar - my ability to juggle or tie a cherry stem into a knot with my tongue Im not sure really qualify for this discussion.

Answer the following:

1. Where do you get the most compliments?

2. What seems to come easily to you?

1. Where do you get the most compliments?

I get the most compliments towards my art, but if I think about the compliments -- they're not that many, to tell you the truth, its just that my art seems to have more compliments than anything else. Compliments towards me or something I do, speaking very bluntly, are rare. Thats the way my community is I guess, many many people just keep to themself unless some one stunning stops by. ( and you know what I mean by stunning, the girl that has pushed breast, thin curved waist, and red stilettos with red lipstick on.)

2. What seems to come easily to you?

Things like imaging the dance moves to peace of music, its like directing in my mind. I gotta say, some people sit for hours trying to be creative. It comes so naturally to me, that I sometimes forget that it is one of my strongest abilites.

3. What do people ask your advice for?

People ask me advice abouts things im a good at, like.. computers.

Answer the following:

1. Where do you get the most compliments?
um, in all honesty, I think I have been getting a lot of compliments on my looks (I suppose it is a shallow world). Next would be my positivity (when I'm in a good mood :D), and it's not a verbal compliment, but the fact that a lot of my friends want to hang out all the time....and seek me out to spend time with, I take that as complimentary :)

2. What seems to come easily to you?
Compassion, comprehension, sociability, the desire to exercise and eat mostly healthy foods, art, writing, and organization.

3. What do people ask your advice for?
Hmm it's been a while, but lately people ask me about weight training techniques. And relationship issues. Mostly people just vent, they don't ask for help--which is help in and of itself.
