Ok so i started trying to loose weight 2 weeks and 2 days ago im Male and my start weight was 184lbs and im 5'4. I cut my calories back to 1500-1700 calories a day and trying to consume 80 or less carbs i also have been consuming a lot more vegetables. About 8 days ago i started to ride a dual action stationary bike(the one that also moves you're arms). So far im up to 35min 9miles on the bike and im trying to get up to 15miles 5 times a week(about an hour). When i first started i was looking weight really fast and it obviously has started to slow down now so far i have lost 12lbs so now im at 172lbs. Im not discouraged at all that the weight has slowed down because i was expecting that. haha i guess what my real question is if i keep up what im doing it is impossible that i wont loose the weight right?

Well, first answer to me would be that you are likely not estimating your calories accurately. We tend to underestimate what we eat so how about doing a food journal for a week? This way, you can recheck to make sure that isn't the factor.

Well ive been really paying attention to calories. ive been eating somewhere in that range 1500-1700. Even if i ate 2000 calories. my real question was if i kept eating correctly and kept exercising its impossible not to loose the weight right?

Well..technically, if your calories are less than you burn each day, then yes BUT the human body isn't set numbers. There are many factors including that your body will sometimes reach a place where it just doesn't want to let go of the weight.

Oh..and you can eat 'correctly' and still overdo your calories.

why would your body just stop loosing weight even if your calorie intake was less then what your burning?

I think you might want to read the various stickies in the forum to gather that information. I never exactly understood the why, it just does. I'm sure one of the other forum members will pop up to give a much more detailed reason why.

ok are you talking about when you get down to a really low weight and there isnt really a lot of fat to burn off?

nope, it is usually after just losing a steady amount of weight. It's different for everyone
