Hello everyone I've actually been reading these forums for a while and decided to join and share my story. My Weight loss journey started in May of 2008 after I attended a wedding. It was my freshman year in college and I wasn't happy with the way I looked. After seeing new pictures of myself something finally just clicked and I told my self I have to lose weight for me. At that time I was around 275lbs but at my highest I was at about 290lbs.
How I did it:
At first I started to just walk in my neighborhood for 45 minutes a day, at this point I wasn't really watching what I was eating so I only lost about 10lbs. Then a few months later I got serious about my diet and cut out almost all junk food. I focused on my diet and kept my calorie intake to no more than 1600 a day. After this the weight started to come off fast, I lost around 50 pounds in six months. I then bought myself an exercise bike that I used 4-5 times a week along with my continued diet. By April of 2010 I was down to 215lbs. My goal weight was 175lbs so I kept working towards it. I continued to exercise and eat healthy and I got down to 180lbs by October of 2010. Since October I had had some dental work which inhibited by ability to eat for a while that alone made me lose a few more lbs and I now weigh in at 160lbs.
Foods I stopped eating:
I no longer eat fast food
I stopped drinking soda and haven't had one in at least 2 years(It was easier than I thought it would be)
After Weight loss:
I now eat 5-6 meals a day and I have upped my calorie intake to around 2100-2200 hundred. I actually don't work out consistently anymore but I also haven't gained a lot of weight back, I'm not really sure why. The only thing I can think of is that my metabolism has gotten faster with weight loss/eating more often so its working more. I have also still continued to eat healthy even though I have upped my food intake.
