beef jerky is fine. sometimes when ppl are on the road and its time for a meal, they'll stop at a corner store and pickup jerky, nuts and a water instead of hitting a drive thru.
a good meal plan will consist of 5-6 meals a day roughly 3 hours apart from each other. each meal will be based on a complete source of protein such as eggs, milk, cottage cheese, chicken, lean red meat, tuna, salmon or turkey.
healthy carbs (oats, brown rice, fruit, veggies, whole grain bread, cereals or pasta, beans) and fats (olive oil, flax seed or oil, nuts, peanut or almond butter) or one or the other will complete the meal.
find out how many calories you're eating now and try to replace any poor choices with good foods if that needs to be done and aim to stay around the same number of total calories each day.
not everything but is that enough to help you get started?
