barley

Hey! I'm just wondering if barley (cracked wheat, says on the package) is good as part of healthy eating, losing weight? I make it like a porridge sort of thing, and do eat it quite a bit, therefore hope there's nothing wrong about it.

Barley and Cracked wheat are not the same.

Barley is a different grain altogether. When buying barley it's better to use Pot (whole) rather than perl barley. It can be made into nice porridge or added to salads and is very good for digestion.

Cracked wheat is just wheat that has been cracked into pieces to reduce cooking time. It retains some of the properties of whole wheat but keep in mind that it has been processed.
