I have been weight training for a couple of months now. I have previously had trouble with my shoulders - occassionally getting a pinching sensation resulting in pain that can linger for several days. Accompanying this pain is weekness/pain when I raise my arms in front at about 90 degrees. I managed to cause this while working out my shoulders yesterday. After doing a fair amount of research, I think that the problem is my rotator cuff - more specifically my joint is out of line causing an impingement. The reason I am asking this question here is because I think that my workout may be causing an imbalance in shoulder muscle tension creating this problem.
I have been doing chest, shoulder presses and military presses, rear delt flys, rows, etc. I think these are creating tension that pulls my arm up, misaligning the joint. What is a good exercise to offset this tension, pulling the arm down? I am already stepping up my rotator cuff exercises.
