Back to school pretty soon...

...and I want to lose some pounds before all the stress starts coming back! I'm 20 years old, 5'11", 200 pounds. My goal is 175. I've been limited myself to less than 1000 calories a day while walking at least 2 miles and plan on that diet/exercise until school starts (beginning of September). I hope to lose ~7 pounds by then. My question: Is that healthy or realistic? I've been doing this for 5 days (& tracking my calories at ) and I feel fine except for a growling stomach.

I think your stomach is trying to tell you something. At 1000 calories, I believe that you should be eating more. At age 20, please don't waste all your time, like I did, dieting. Make a lifestyle change, so you don't have to be on a diet the rest of your life. I would go to the nutrition section of this form. Also, I would start a diary and post your eating plan for more advice. Hopefully this helps.

Best Wishes,

Carrie
