Back on Track

It's weird to read this over a month later and see nothing has changed. I just need tp cough up the money for an attorney. We're pretty much in agreement on the custody and the child support, and he got a good job, so I'm not worried about getting paid, but we still have to work out how to divide up the business, the home and the debt. That's where I think I need an attorney.

Anyway, it has been since July 20 since I worked out, according to this. I don't think I've worked out since then.

Well, I'm sort of maintaining. I'm 3-5 lbs over my lowest weight, and I think there's more fat due to not working out, but I'm in the same size. The clothes had started to get a little big at one point, but they fit now. That part stinks, to remember when they were looser and thinking of buying new clothes. Oh well.

The girls are back in school. They've started back up in Girl Scouts. The older one sees a tutor to improve her reading. My work has suddenly gotten really busy. I'm just trying to squeeze in a decent meal now and again, and watch portions. Without the exercise though, I'm on this little see saw.

Has it been six weeks? I'm thinking of coming back here more frequently. I need to get back on track.

The good news, I went walking/running 3 times last week, 5k each time, Sunday, Wednesday and Saturday.

I had to do it. I just am not where I want to be. Exercise is going to be the way for me to get there.

Well, that and eating better....

Maintained goal weight for just over a year (up or down within 3 lbs, but always hovering back at the low, goal weight.

In 3 months I managed to ADD five lbs. Yikes. It takes SO much longer to lose it than to gain it. *SIGH...* My new goal weight is 5 lbs lower than my previous one, so I now have a 10 lb weight loss goal. I haven't decided if I have a target date in mind; previously I just took it one day at a time (I took about 2 years to lose 32.5 lbs).

Well, I've dusted off the scale (it was actually in storage for a couple of months while I moved, which is a long story) and started weighing myself again, almost daily. That is something that helps me stay on track.

Walked around the block this morning. First time since I moved back to the house in mid-February. Baby steps. When I tried to pick running back up a few months ago, I tried too quickly to get back where I was, and my left knee started bothering me. Luckily I'd never had any physical problems in the past, but it sucked to think my favorite thing to do for fitness and weight loss might not be possible. Am I getting OLD??

So I'm going to walk first, increase speed or distance over time, then eventually run again. Try to ease back into it.

I know what to do, what works for me. I thought it might help me to come back here to post.

Here goes.

Walked this morning. About to do some weight training.

Am up 10 lbs vs 18 months ago. Gained a whole bunch this summer dating a guy who ate and drank too much and never exercised - he was overweight but didn't think so.

This is TOTALLY my responsibility, but this is the first time I've been with someone whose own habits influenced mine so much. 7 lbs gained in 3 months, egads!

Well, I'm about to lose 200 lbs, lol, as in dumping the b/f.

More importantly, I'd like to get back on track with watching what I eat and getting in that walking EVERY DAY - which was key to my success the last time.

Goals are to lose 14 lbs, walk, add strength training to my routine.
