I was here once before for a short time. I chose the "self medication" sort of route. . .Which did sort of work last year, but things are different now.

My name is Naomi! I am currently 22 years old, living in Miami - Florida. I am 5'2" and a half about, and currently am weighing in at 175lbs. . .

I had never had weight issues in my life. Up until I was 20, I had never been heavier then 115bs. But, with a very long story put aside - I was forced to need to take Prednisone for a very long time. Within 3 months on it I went from 115lbs, to over 150lbs. At my largest I reached over 180lbs. . .Last year, though I do not know how, I dropped weight to 135lbs about this time. . .But was hospitalized in December and since have run back on 40lbs.

I find I really do need to aid of others, the support and understanding of others, to make this work. Living with a boyfriend who is 115lbs himself and can't gain weight if he tried. . .It can get hard / annoying.

I am lost to dieting, and to working out. I don't know what to do, and hope that. . .others who may have once been as lost, will be willing to help me along my journey to dropping 50lbs. :beating:

Hi and welcome. I know Prednisone makes you gain. I have had to take it 3X's in my life. The good part is you can lose the weight after your off it. I have been on many diets in my life and found that counting your calories and exercising is best and healthier. Start reading some of the sticky's like the one in nutrition. Some of these will tell you how to figure out how many calories you should be eating to lose weight. You can also find many other sites that will help with this by just putting in calorie counting on your search.
