Back.... need to change NOW

I wrote up a big story to post here... and decided I wouldn't. I have nobody to talk to about problems because I feel it doesn't matter. I don't know.

Anyway.

Summarized version.

I'm young. Not even 18.

I weigh 357 lbs.... the fact I do has made my entire teenage life a depressed and pointless venture. I have no friends and that's because I haven't done ANYTHING in the last few years. Literally.

I joined back in the summer. Yeah, 1 month later I overdosed and somehow lived. Won't go into detail, but I was sleep deprived and it was like somebody else was inside my body.

Now here we are, 50 lbs larger.

If I'm gonna change I need certain things. I do not have them. But I need to do something now or else I will never come back from this.

All I can say now is to wish me luck, because living like this is simply not something I will be able to do much longer without going completely insane.

Also 1 last thing, I look alot less then I weigh. I don't know why I weigh THIS much but it's really weird.

hi mystrery man

i feel your pain. most people don't try to talk to us really over weight people who need help badly.

seems they always go to the forums that have people who only need to lose a few pounds or are well on

there way to loseing there weight.

any way i am pretty sick over my weight and like you i don't know what i will do if i don't lose this weight.

i went to the doctor he told me to get gastric bypass or die. i don't have the money for that or insurance.

he told me trying to lose weight was useless because im on to much insulin.

but i got to thinking do i want to die? no way . i have to much to live for.

if i knew eating a unheathy meal was going to kill me that day would i eat it.

i really don't think i would. i just had to decide i want to live.

i really have only lost 3 pounds so far but thats a great start.

and when i lose 10 pounds that will be like a 10 pound bag of potatoes gone.

im not really looking at the big picture right now i just want to lose 20 pounds i know it will

greatly improve my health and how i feel.

i will be waiting to hear how things are going for you later.

and I've already responded to one your other posts Cherokee. I would really like to connect with both of you. Life really IS worth getting healthier for. And for Mystery Man, I really believe you can make this change in order to secure your future.

I also don't look like I weight 285 pounds partly b/c my father was a pro wrestler, and trust me, he gave me some muscular legs and muscle I've never even worked for, I'm sure I inherited it. BUT, Im tired of people telling me I'd make a great football player. Is that really supposed to be flattering??

Anyways, I'm working out and seeing a major light at the end of the tunnel.

I will say one thing. You both are going to have to take a closer look at the issues surrounding the weight gain or you can expect to put the weight back on. It's just the way it is I'm afraid. The weight gain is a symptom of something else going on in your lives...in many cases....long ago, and usually at the hands (unfortunately) of people who are supposed to love us. You need that process to happen in order to give yourself (consciously AND subconsciously) to move forward.

This is also something many support boards do not address, but unless we start to, we are spinning our wheels. Being overweight is the EFFECT. We need to be the CAUSE and that means doing that work I've just mentioned AND THEN becoming the CAUSE, which translates to being an individual whose self-worth becomes VERY clear and changes the dialogue in our heads.

Mystery Man - you probably don't know right this minute "why I weigh THIS much but it's really weird."

You need to know WHY.

I hope you will both add me as a friend and we can share strategies, etc. I hope others here will respond and support or provide advice as well, but I'd really like to connect with you and hopefully get your new year off to the right start.

Cheers,

Terri

@Mysterman

What I'd like for you to do is make a 3 month short term goal. Be realistic - for someone your weight losing about 30 pounds shouldn't be a problem. This is as realistic as it gets and I've seen people lose more than 50 pounds in the 3 months. Then write it down in a piece of paper and read it every morning for motivation. Keep it in your pocket incase you get frustrated or discouraged. As long as you do your part then your body and weight loss goals will take care of you.

Once you have this short term goal then I'd like for you to start out by adding MORE WATER. You should consume at least 6 glasses of 8oz water. Do that for a whole week - YES try to eat healthier but first what I want is for you to pick up this fantastic habit.

The next week I'd like for you to start eating healthier by focusing on some aspects in your diet. LIke if you like chips then - whenever you feel like eating some chips - eat half the bag then eat a whole apple. This way you GOT what you were craving for but you also didn't finish the whole bag (knocking down half the calories). Make your terrible eating habits somewhat better.

This is what I like to call "Baby Steps" - it's incredibly difficult to start "Baby Steps" by going cold turkey on your old habits. You have to slowly mend if you will - good habits.

@Cherokee

I don't know about you but I'd run as fast as possible from that doctor.

What I'd do if I were you is visit other doctors because this one clearly is irresponsible.

For now please try to eat healthier. IF you can't exercise try to do some of the steps I had for Mystery Man. It's a healthy approach.

@mscaramelle

Thank you so much for trying to help them.

Stay Healthy My Friends,

Hey. I just wanted to post up and let you know that I absolutely care and have experience feeling like no one care, no support and that you dont matter, but don't feel that way. We all here on the boards care about you (at least I know that I do) and want to provide you with at least the SUPPORT that you need. Write back here if you are interested in support/motivation or anything else. I also have a VLOG all about weight loss/goals etc and is all about me interacting with others about what their challenges are as they tackle trying to lose weight.
