Back again

I'm not exactly a newcomer but it has been quite a while since I have been here. The last time I was here I had lost nearly fifty pounds and swore that I would never allow myself to gain it back. Well, apparently I lied on that one, cause I have not only gained the fifty pounds that I lost but I found extra ten pounds somewhere and now I have developed Sciatica (sp?) which causes me to be in so much pain that I can't even walk very far. I'm hoping to make a new start and this time lose the pounds for good.
 
Why is it so hard to get started on a diet. I keep telling myself that I will start with a healthy breakfast and I never do. This morning I had planned on having an egg and a piece of toast for breakfast but I screwed up and made grilled cheese and now I'm eating a butterfinger on break. UGh!
 
I'm sorry to hear that, you must be so frustrated! I was a newbie here a while ago too, succeeded in losing maybe 5-10 pounds (so I didn't get very far on my goal, haha) and have since gained 2x that here I am, back for some more motivation.

You can do it! Best thing you can do is try again. Best of luck! :)
 
The first thing I need to do is go through the kitchen and get rid of anything that is unhealthy, maybe I won't be so tempted to eat something that is bad for me if it isn't there. The other problem is everyone needs to stop saying lets just get a biscuit on the way to work. I can't turn it down when they do, I am a fast food addict.

I know what you mean about having things around that might tempt you. When I go to McDonalds for my son in the mornings when he is running late for school, I seem to always need a sausage biscuit! I know I don't need it, I know it's a downfall, but I do it anyway, except when I am on a really good health surge which is hard to keep up when you are broke and can't do the grocery shopping that week.

How did you lose your weight the first time? How long did it take?

I'm sure if you've done it before, you can definitely do it again. Persistence is key.
