Baby stepper

Hello all,

I'm a 41 year old married mother of 4- the youngest of whom is turning 3 today!

I'm here because I'd like some support/accountability in my effort to slim down a bit and just be a little healthier. I titled this intro thread "Baby stepper" because that's what I think I'll be. I am not looking to go on a specific diet or excercise plan per se. I tend to obsess too much when I do that and it makes me miserable and never lasts. Instead, I'd like to follow the advice given in this forum about how to start- cutting some portions, drinking more water, getting exercise when I can. I've done that before, along with posting on a forum, and it worked really well for me, so I'd like to try it again. That was 6 years ago right before I got pregnant with my third child.

I weigh 165 lbs, I'm 5'8" tall, and would like to get down below 150 lbs at some point in the future.

It's great to meet all of you! :)

Hi there! Welcome. I'm new too. Looks like you've got a great plan. If limits/counting is too much for you then do what works best for you! Happy birthday to your youngest!!! I weigh the same, but I'm 3 inches shorter so I'm trying to lose a bit more. 15 pounds shouldn't be so bad! I'm sure you can do it! Good luck on your journey!

We can be newbies together. :)

Welcome, welcome! You'll find all the support you can handle here. They're good people, good people. Starting is the hardest part. I heard somewhere that if you do something for 2 weeks straight, it'll become a habit. I'm not much a planner and I don't measure portions and all that, but I try to eat smaller portions of the not so healthy things. Everything in moderation or whatever they say. With the support here, you'll have plenty of folks rallying for your success. Ease into it, try not to get discouraged, and you'll be one hot mama in no time! :jump:
