Avoiding bulky calves!!

I am now on a weight loss regime and do lot's of cardio ie. cycling, jogging, tae-bo, plus I've started weight training. The problem is I have HUGE calf muscles, is there any way to make them more sleek, will all this cardio make them even bulkier? Especially the running and cycling?
 
If this is muscle coverd by fat you will be able to define them more by losing the fat. If your calves are all muscle already you might be able to define them but as far as shrinking the muscle wouldnt think that is possible, but Im sure some one here will answer this question better.

Ditto! Mine have only grown 1/2 inch in 3 weeks!!

Anyways, like drifta said, the cardio will help to reduce body fat, and if there's any on your legs, it will help lean them out. But you can't avoid working out to make muscles smaller - it doesn't work that way.

Personally I would love larger calves. At my height...that is nearly an impossibility. To each there own though. You may want to change which cardio machines you use. As a for instance…Elliptical machines with your feet flat use a lot less calves than a stationary bike. There are no exercises to make muscles smaller. Your only option is to limit the work load on that muscle.

I too have genetically large calves, especially in proportion to my upper legs. Both are strong, but the calves have more mass.
 
^^^ Fine rub it in...me and my puny calves are going to reach something on the top shelf of something... :D

I've always been big on mountain biking so I think it is where the bulk came from. Many people here have expressed the desire to have big calves, on a 5'0 female it looks out of whack!! I appreciate how everyone here is so supportive and positive, awww I love you guys.... :D

i have big calves myself (genetically). Will doing a lot of jogging help slim them? Someone told me that long distance is good but sprinting is bad because they'll make them bigger.
