Athlete going for gold.

I use to play soccer for my high school's team. In my junior year, towards the end of the final quarter, I broke my ankle. Then the next school year, about a month after my ankle fully healed and I was able to play again, I broke it once more.

The combination of not lowering my caloric intake even though my excercise had drastically reduced, with the fact that I was plain depressed helped me to gain 114 pounds in a year and a half.

That's where I am now. I'm only eighteen and preparing for college. My dream is to one day play sports again without worrying about running out of breath five minutes in or wondering what other people are saying when they see me struggle to just kick the soccer ball now.

So mine is more of a Before-After-back to Before goal.

I hope to lose 100 pounds in nine months. It's a heavy goal, but I've got determination and I'm hoping that by coming on this forum, it'll keep me honest. I've just gotta treat it like sports practice.

Thanks for reading. Take care.

Man! Breaking your ankle must have been really hard on you :( My depression contributed to my weight gain as well, BUT you are NOT your depression and you can turn it all around. College will be fun and is definitely sport potential so I think that's an awesome goal. Take care and good luck!

Hey Joe, welcome to the forum!

Have you thought about starting a journal in the Weight Loss Diary section or the Before, After, & In Between section?
