Hello all i'm not 100% sure this is the right topic but here goes.

I am at the end of my rope with my weight/eating habbits/exercise.

background: I'm 32, 6ft tall, and weigh 400lbs. I have been heavy since I can remember. Was diagnosed being diabetic this past October, weighed 450lbs then got down to 390lbs in 5 months time. I was feeling great and realised 390 was like hitting a brick wall. I dropped that weight by changing diet alone then joined a gym and my weight jumped back to 400+lbs. I have been eating differently to try and get under 390 and its just not happening. I keep going between 390 and 400 and I have to admit I am losing my mind. Even as i'm writing this i'm so very frustrated with myself. I am trying the hardest i've ever tried and im getting no where. I am about to give up hope completely. My friends and family seem to think i'm not eating enough but I think I am doing fine. I suspect that the trick is in my eating habbits but I am so confused that I dont know whats right and wrong any more. I cant go to a doctor or pay for a nutritionist please help me find out what I need to do before its too late....

Hi there. Welcome, you've come to the right place for support and advice.

I'm not sure why you're not losing weight but yo maintain 400lbs you must be eating something. Can you post what you eat and then people will be able to advise you? Also what are you doing in the gym?

Hmmm... I've read that people with substantial amount of fat can gain muscle more easily. I wonder if it's muscle gain since you started your gym.
I'm not expert tho but just thought i'd point my thought out.

You dont need to go to a doctor (unless you suspect something is wrong) or a nutrionist. What you need to do is educate yourself and learn what it is going to take to lose the weight. There are plenty of sticky threads on this sight that contain all the info that you need to lose weight. Then you just need to execute those new habits.

Like previuosly stated, post what you are eating and what you are doing for exercise.

The worst thing you can do is give up. You are too young to give up. I can tell you, all the hard work you put into this will pay off when you reach your goals.

Is it easy? Absolutely not, but it will get easier.

Stick around, post often and keep us up to date.

GOOD LUCK AND YOU CAN DO THIS!!!

Matt
