Argh!! Weight stuck!

I've done a search on this - but i cant find much info so please dont flame me for asking this..

Since i started my change to lose weight, ive been going really well. I had a bit of a plateau (sp?) at 17st13lbs as this is the lowest i could ever get my weight down to on every other diet ive been on.

However once i smashed that - it seemed to be going really well again, anything from 2-4lbs a week, untill i finally got down to 17st dead!

Only problem is, over these last 2 weeks - nothing. :banghead:
I've not really changed anything. Still keeping to 3 meals a day - 1800-2000 calories a day, and on the treadmill 3 times a week.
Last week i admit i had a few downfalls - 3 bags of mint humbugs & no running as ive been a bit under the weather (no excuse i know)

Its quite disheartning as i was really looking forward to finally not seeing 17 on the scales lol.

Can anyone shed any light / advice on what i can do to jumpstart my weight loss once more?

Thanks

Try some differnet cardio. I switched from the treadmill to actually running and it seemed to help me.

You said you haven't changed anything right? Maybe that's your problem. Change up your diet a little and excercises. I plateaued for like a month before but then I changed when and what I ate on the weekends and boom back on track. Good luck.

Staying at the same weight for 2 weeks is really no big deal. If you had an extra salty meal the night before weighing, you could easily be retaining several pounds in water.

Just give it more time and keep doing what you are doing. Or switch it up if you are getting bored with it. But 2 weeks is way to short to really say that you are stuck.

Keep it, you're doing great do far!

So are you saying you're still doing the same thing, or are you saying you've had a spell of eating more and moving less? If the second, go back to your regular routine and be patient.

Thanks for the replys.

Well i took on board the advice, changed my cardio this week, ive been out running instead of using the treadmill.

allyphoe - that was just the last week, id not changed up to that point, but i have stuck to my diet this week so far.

Guess i'll just have to try to take my mind off it for a few weeks and hope it drops in that time - just does my head in when you see no results lol.

Cheers

Yeah, also, don't fall into the pit trap of scale hell.

As people mentioned here, a week, or two (even four) isn't really a plateau. A few months is...

Secondly, the scale might not move... but other things can. And that's the important thing... without getting scientific on you, a scale can't calculate things like glycogen, lean muscle, and hydration levels. Therefore, you aren't really getting the most accurate picture. Clothing and what you see in the mirror (I'd take pictures on a regular basis, like every 2-3 weeks) should be your first and foremost indicators. Measurements are also great... so while you might not see "gains" on the scale, that isn't exactly the first place you'd even want to look at anyways.

Steve wrote an excellent post... check this out: http://weight-loss.fitness.com/befo...een-almost-after-pooh-style-3.html#post367219

That should be a sticky on its own. It is a damn shame I can't be as eloquent as Steve sometimes.
