If you're already working out the rest of your body and know how to, whycome you look like the white version of Gumby and ask for ab exercises?

Diet and exercise in detail, please. When and what you eat each day, when and what (which exercises, how many sets and reps, etc, how much of what type of cardio and when) you do for exercise.

If I was venturing a guess, I'd say probably not..but that's no reason not to try. The best thing you can do is get started right away, regardless of whether or not you can get it done in 3 months.

Most people make one fundamental mistake in exercise and fitness. They overestimate how difficult it will be, and they underestimate how long it will take.

Breakfest - Eggs,Milk,Bacon,Toast

Lunch- I have water, idk what to have *School Food is horrible and fat, they never have salads anymore :(*
Dinner - Steak.meat/potatoes/water/sometimes with corn

when iwork out i usually do 2 sets of 12 reps of low weights.

first of all, post how you workout the rest of you're body, let us be the judge on if you know how to or not ;)

Squats, deads, stuff like that will build you're abs. To get a sixpack you gotta eat right and loose fat.

yeah, my workout is too long and i really dont feel like typing forever, i basicly do low weights and a lot of reps to get leaner muscle. to workout my abs i usually do russian twists/regular situps/crunches...Eating right hasnt been a problem lately, my mom just came home with KFC and i turned it down lol.

From what you said in the other incarnation of this thread, everything needs improvement. Especially your nutrition. Read some stickies.

Nevermind the Gumby comment...that was just me rudely pointing out that you should never assume you know what you're doing. :)

wacky, i notice from ur pic u no what ur talkin about..thanx for the tip about the medium range reps.

-for lower abs i do leg rises with my back on the floor...is there any other variation to lower abs?

and thanks about the eating :D!

Lower Abdominal Myth

It is widely believe the lower abs are exercised during the leg raise or other hip flexor exercises. It can be misleading to judge the mechanics of an exercise based upon localized muscular fatigue. The primary muscle used in hip flexion is actually the Iliopsoas, one of many hip flexors. The Iliopsoas, indeed, does happen to originate deep below the lower portion of the Rectus Abdominis. During the leg raise the entire abdominal musculature isometrically contracts (contracts with no significant movement) to:

Posture the spine and pelvis
Supports the weight of the lower body so the lumbar spine does not hyperextend excessively
Maintains optimal biomechanics of the Iliopsoas
Hips are kept from prematurely flexing if the lumbar spine and pelvis does not hyperextend excessively
Iliopsoas can contract more forcefully in a relatively slight stretched position
Bent knee (and hip) situps actually place Iliopsoas in a mechanical disadvantage
Counteracts Ilopsoas's pull on spine
Many people with weak abdominal muscles are not able to perform hip flexor exercises without acute lower back pain or discomfort
The combination of the local muscular fatigue, or a burning sensation from the isometrically contracted abdominal muscles, and from the working hip flexors produces fatigue in the pelvis area which we mistakenly interpret as the lower portion of the Rectus Abdominis being exercised. In movements where the Rectus Abdominis does Isotonically contract (contracts with movement), it flexes the spine by contracting the entire muscle from origin to insertion. The spine is not significantly flexed during the leg raise. Incidentally, both the spine and hip flexes during the Sit Up and Hip Raise.
From Fat Loss & Weight Training Myths

Well I read this exerpt from one of Tonymcclenan's posts, so leg raises may not be the best exercise.

I've been doing reverse crunches and bridges for my lower abs.

Wacky, the abdominal muscle is all one muscle, with parts to allow flexibilty. I have a '6pack' and didn't do anything specific for the 'lower abs' and they are the same as the rest. So therefore, I am not entirely sure you can work your 'lower abs'. Otherwise people would be walking about with lumps at the top where the 'upper abs' were and then flat stomach at bottom. Can anyone second this?

theres pretty much no such thing as lean muscle, higher reps give you endurance not lean muslce ;) if you're routine is too long to bother to write i bet its too long, period.

Guys, what's up with being so aggressive against him. You all seem out to make comments about what the rest of his workouts like. He basically just wants some abdominal exercises and diet help. Yes, his workout could be bad, but do you know what it is? Saying he can't be bothered to write it out is perfectly valid. Can you honestly say you are always willing to/have the time to write your workout out?

i copy paste it from the document i have it inn. We just want to help him to the best of our abilities, if he isent doing squats and deads then most of the ab exercises in the world wouldnt help him.
Sorry but the truth is hard. And now im damned glad that when i came here asking for one specific thing, a guy told me to write up my routine, i did, he told me it was crap, i used a month goofing around before i accepted it, changed it and saw some good gains.

Im not saying his workout is bad for sure, it could be really good! But again, just let us see, it doesnt take long to write out a workout, unless its one of those workouts that change every session ever week so you have to write up 50 training days.

thanks for all those who are just tryn to help out, but i just want kinda "straigt up" answers thatll solve my question..."What's the best way to get six pack abs."

thank u all

take your own advice foc before you start insulting people, hun. this guy wants some help and just because he doesn't know what he's doign doesn't mean you need to call him a name as the opening line of your post.

Wasn't intended as an insult. Just making a friendly point, in my own way. Though my hypocrisy is definitely showing, I'll give you that. :p

Woodt, who's being aggressive? The OP's asking for help with an ambitious goal. We may not be offering him the suggestions he thinks he needs, but that's not really a problem in my eyes, when his methodology is off. I feel that "read the stickies" really is the best advice I can give, here, as much of what he's doing isn't even ballpark.

Update: Honestly, I feel like you're just being lazy, but here:

The "How To" get Abs guide and when they say clean eatin', this is what is meant: John Berardi - The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Nutrition.

After reading that, and figuring out what's wrong with what you're doing, click this calorie calculator link and figure out how much you need to be eating to lose a lb (500 calories less than maintenance), or 2 (1000 calories less) a week.

That's prettywell everything you need to know..without you having to do any work. You can thank DW for making me feel bad.

Maybe aggressive is the wrong word. Just presuming that he has a bad workout. TC if you are sure that you just want ab help then fine.

Well first of all, it does not matter how many ab workouts you do... You could do thousands of ab workouts and not be able to see them. They will tone your abs and give them definition but you will not be able to see them if you have fat covering it. Abs are made in the kitchen. To have abs you want to lose stomach fat. But sadly, you can not spot reduce. So the best advice I have is run and the fat will come off. That's the ONLY way they'll show. So i suggest you do a healthy diet, eat clean foods. Eat low calorie, low sugar, low carb foods.
And do cardio, and lift weights. Eventually the stomach fat will come off and you will see your sixpack. Everyone has a sixpack, whether they can see it or not, sometimes its jsut covered with a layer of fat. So lose the fat and you will get your "sixpack abs."
Hope this helps.
