Anyone Else Planning a Makeover?

Just like the title says I’m planning a makeover for when I reach my goal weight. I’m even growing out my hair so that I can get the perfect cut that I got last year. I would have kept it the same but the girl didn’t even cut it remotely the same way. How hard is it to understand “Just trim what I have?”

Anyway, I’m looking forward to buying cute tops that I would have never had on when I was younger. I only wore lose baggy clothes when I was thin. I know I was crazy.

So my question is what do you plan to get once you reach your goal?

I'm not really planning a makeover. I have other rewards that will eat up all my money as it is, lol. But I estimate that I will be close to reaching my goal in the fall and my birthday is in October. I'm hoping that for my birthday and Christmas I'll get mostly gift cards for clothing shops (or money) so I can get new clothes. I'll need them by then!

Although I have been thinking of splurging on myself and getting highlights in my hair. I've always wanted to.

Yes, I am planning a "makeover" of sorts as well!!! xD

Regardless of how much my body actually changes in the next few months, I plan on doing a lot of shopping right before the next school semester in August. I really want to up my image a bit. I'm saving my money, plan to spend at least $100 on new clothes (and coming from someone whose wardrobe consists primarily of $1 T-shirts and $3 athletic shorts from Goodwill, that's a whole lot, haha).

I want to get a lot more nice clothes- some cute tops and blouses and more professional looking shorts and skirts. I also want more tank tops, which used to be my standard before I gained weight. :)
I'm also growing out my hair this summer, so I can get a new cut in a few months. I want lots of really long layers and maybe bangs.

I hope to be at my goal by the end of the summer, of course, but even if I don't make it, I'm sure I'll at least have made some progress. So it's sort of an incentive and a reward to hit my goal, but it's also just practical, because if I bought clothes for school now, I'm sure they wouldn't fit the same in a few months, even if I don't lose all the weight I've planned.

We'll have to post pics or something of our made-over selves. :)

:) i'm getting a pony...

just kidding!
i'll be getting clothes that i actually like! being big i can't really get away with wearing skinny jeans and little tees, but hopefully when i've lost a bit i'll have the confidence to wear stuff like that :)

Ha ha - I like the "I'm getting a pony" post. :)

I think a makeover is a great idea! Since my goal is to loose this weight by my 40th birthday (Aug. 2011. I know - I'm old!), it would be great to go all out. New hair style, highlights, new clothes for sure! Also planning a trip for my 10 year wedding anniversary to Las Vegas!

All ur ideas sound like fun. And Hanabi, I know what u mean about getting clothes at goodwill. I have a lot of stuff from there. Some people stick their nose up at used clothes but I see nothing wrong with it. I mostly need new shirts becuase I have a lot of cute jeans that I hope will fit me again once I reach my goal.

I'm the same way! I think buying used clothes is fine, whether Goodwill or a more upscale consignment store or whatever. It's actually very useful during weightloss, I've found: you don't want to have no clothes that fit right, but you also don't want to spend bunches of money on things that won't fit in a few months!

On a related note: does anyone buy clothes that are too small for them now but they plan to fit into later?
I tried on a super, super cute dress at Ross (the other most excellent store for cheap clothes!) yesterday, and it looked great, just couldn't get the zipper quite up. I really considered buying it and keeping it for when I could wear it...but chickened out at the last minute.

I know what you mean! I have had the same thing go through my head before be at the last min I just couldn't bring myself to buy something that was too small DX

WHat?!?!
The goodwill near me is in a terrible neighborhood and I went in there one day and they had shirts that had holes in them and all stained for atleast $5 and I didn't see any jeans for lower than $10. And everything was old, stunk, and all wore out.

I can't wait to lose all this extra chunk to get a makeover! lol

I plan on dying my hair platinum blonde and black, getting a tattoo, and shopping at Forever 21, Walmart and AJ Wright for all my clothes.

I bought a pair of size 7 pants about a year ago that I have yet to be able to wear from Styles... haha but that was when I was like 160 pounds, well I am 160 now but I was much closer to fitting in them when I got them then before I started losing weight this time around. Hope they fit by July when I go to Florida keys for vacation. I used to wear size 7's and last time I could fit in them was at 148 pounds, so I hope my never worn ones fit then!

I promise, it's true! I live in Oklahoma, and things are really cheap in general here, Goodwill clothing included! And the stores here are great, they won't even accept things with holes or stains. One of the good things about living here. xD

I'm actually thinking about going back and buying mine after all...haha.

Oh, I hope so too, good luck on that!!
I also have a couple pairs of pants I never even wore back when I was thinner. I thought they looked ugly then, but now they look awesome to me, lol.

Just new clothes for me.

And thank you, Chef... I almost spit coffee all over my keyboard LOL. I'm sure tech support would have LOVEd that ha ha!
