I can workout, eat decent ALL day long, but come home from work, get the kids to bed, and all of a sudden I've got the munchies BAD!!!!! HELP!!!!!!!:piggy:

I have that problem, well minus the kids. I solved the problem by not buying food. Of course you have to have it for your kids so I guess you can't do that.

I may also drink coffee or tea - not a good idea for most people right before bed time, but the caffeine doesn't seem to bother me. I will also listen to music.

But the biggest thing keeping me from eating at night is just plain willpower. I just sit and starve. It's hard. You have to practice. No one starts off with strong willpower you just have to work up to it.

Look Yourself in the mirror and make a promise to yourself and then brush your teeth. I have the same problem with late night munchies.

yeah, I can do good all day, but when I come home and it's getting late and I'm bored I want to eat like a fat ass. All I can do is fight the urge :(

I'm fighting the midnight munchies too. It's starting to be routine for me not to eat after 6 and the urge to eat out of boredom is starting to fade away for me.

What I do when I really want to eat at night is get myself into doing a task. For me it is usually doing some physics problems or playing a video game. The last few hours before bed are the hardest for me and I need something to fill in the time.

Things that might help would be doing a puzzle, playing some games, doing logic oriented things or anything that occupies your mind. I'm not sure that you can fight off the urge to eat effectively, but you can make it so that it isn't a priority in your mind.

It will be routine eventually. Just make sure you got enough calories before then.

I'm right there with ya' all. I track my calories on Fitday and eat healthy for the most part all during the day. But after 7:00 at night is when I struggle the most.
Even though I have usually eaten a sufficient healthy dinner, I still find myself raiding the cupboards later on.

I would try to fill up on water instead but then I would have to get up alot during the night for bathroom visits.

What do we do to lessen the temptations?

Well tonite I am upstairs watching tv and surfing the web. ANYTHING but go back downstairs by the kitchen!!!!!It was much easier when my husband worked 1st shift and was home at night. Now that he's on 2nd shift, once the kids are in bed it's hard not to snack. I need to get back into the habit of doing Wii Fit once they go to bed, but lately I'm just too tired.:angelsad2:
