Antibiotics, input please?

This headache hasn't gone away for a week now so it's time for some antibiotics. I am allergic to a lot so I have to take E-Meycin, with that it's either 3 or 4 times a day with a meal as it sometimes does a number on my stomache.

I'm nervous for a couple reasons, I have hit a plateau for the past month and am trying so hard to stick to my 1200 - 1400 calories a day ( I tend to stay closer to 1200), I fear this will push me over that. I also read somewhere that it's bad to exercise when on medication so that factored in with eating more scares me even more.

I guess what I am getting at is, does anyone know if the don't work out while on medicine is true? Also just looking for someone who can share with me a posible yes I was on something like that and was able to still lose weight :(

why antibiotics for a headache?

I've worked out on plenty of different medications..

if you're female the downside to SOME antibiotics (and check with your doctor and/or pharmacist) is that they can contribute to yeast infections and in some cases lessen the effectiveness of birth control pills.

What are youotr current stats and what makes you ythink that 1200 calories is a good idea for you? that's low for most people...

The headache is from pressure from a sinus infection.

I used a calorie counter which told me that to lose 1 pound per week to eat so many calories and to lose 2 pounds per week to eat between 1200 -1300, that is what I went by. I am 34, 5'6 and am currently 176 pounds. I have been doing Richard Simmons dvd for an hour 5 days a week but recently cut back to a 20 minute high intensity routine.

Thank you for the reply, I feel so much better knowing it's possible to be fine. Just my obsessive'ness kicking in, you know if I stop for one day all the weight I lost will come back. I must break through that.

I was on erythromycin when I was younger and it made me so sick to my stomach even with food! That is not a fun medicine to take. When I was taking it I was not trying to lose weight so I unfornuately cannot be helpful with that.

Exercising should be fine while on the drug. You can always call your doctor's nurse and double check. I've never really heard not to exercise while on medicine unless you are very seriously ill. A lot of times exercise helps what ails you!
