Anthony Ellis program?

It is not possibly to judge something until you have tried it. Anthony's program covers everything one needs to know (targeted for hardgainers) with clean delivery and ease of use.

he doesnt even come close to comparing to people like.....
The only way you can make this statement with any degree of truth is if you have infact purchased it and read the materials, then followed his outlined diet scheme and training routines.

No one is arguing that the Anthony Ellis program isn't a good one. We're not arguing that because we haven't purchased it and we don't have any stance to base our opinion on whether it's effective or not. What we are saying is that there are a lot of strength coaches and personal trainers out there that offer information for free that makes a trainee willing to follow their advice and guidance successful in their strength/physique changes.

A point in case is Pendlay's 5X5 program which is only a google click away or easily accessible by anyone on the net. That program has been making people strong and gaining in hypertrophy (if wanted) for a long time but you don't have to shell out money. T-Nation.com has a bang of strength coaches on the forum there that continually answer questions and write programs that have been producing results for people that follow them-for free.

Yes, they are available for higher but they still offer their knowledge for those that cannot afford their services. Personally, as a college student, I can't justify shelling out $100 or whatever it is Anthony charges but I can take guidance from strength coaches who have produced results with others and be very successful and put that $100 where it needs to go-food or training equipment.

For diet purposes, I don't need to purchase Anthony or Berardi's stuff when I can go to Lyle who is a nutritional researcher and instead of lining out diet plans for me will give me the all the information I need to be successful.

On a side note and this is not to get into a debate, but I highly doubt Anthony has no where near touched the amount of people that Glen Pendlay, DeFranco, or Bill Starr have because they work with high school and college athletes and have for years and years now. They offer their strength training guidance for those looking to get bigger, stronger, faster, more explosive, ect rather than "X number of weeks to physique changes for X dollars".

I guess as Bronx stated it goes back to personal choices. I know how to get lean, I know how to gain hypertrophy...it's a very simple matter of time and calorie manipulation. Show me a coach who can make me strong and fast and I'm hooked on thier knowledge.

As an aside, Bronx-did you create an account here just for this thread?

I will make a guess and say you dont have a clue who those people are that I mentioned.

I disagree. I don't think it's silly or sad. No disrespect, but those names you mentioned mean nothing to me, and like many adults with busy lives, nor do I care to spend time trolling the internet trying to find out what they are about. Free does not motivate me. Offline or online, if I want something, I will pay to get exactly what I want. Would any of you expect a personal trainer to coach you for free? Remember, you are not getting some secret, unknown training methods, what you are paying for is their experience.

When you line up to get some "maybe" supplement (maybe it does someting, maybe it doesn't) do you pay after you get results? Hell no, but I don't see anyone ripping the people dropping $50, $60 and $70 for that junk.

Instead of pissing away your money, might as well buy something that you can learn from, like information. A much better purchase IMHO.

In my experience, the best things are not always free. On the Internet, like in life, you get what you pay for. If everything was solved for free on the Internet, then why do you continually get the same questions over and over? I will tell you, it's because there is no "one" way for everyone. There is no one voice that everyone will identify with.

You identify with those people you mentioned, but I may not. Anthony Ellis may not appeal to you, but I'm pretty sure he has touched more lives than most of the people you named. So he's doing something right. I guess there is room for more options, like it or not.

Good luck all!

p.r.
I see what's going on. You have no idea about training outside of the Ellis progam. I mentioned the best in this business and you have no idea who they are. Also, you're not familiar with message boards because we and others "rip" on people all the time for buying worthless supplements.

Just for the record, I still have the Body of Work video when Ellis was one of the winners. I also have read a few articles I've seen from him. I've also read the column he would do in Muscle Media magazine. I've also seen some of the program because it was posted on a message board a few years ago.

After all that, I still recommend the books Starting Strength and Brawn for all the skinny dudes out there ;)
