I was looking for an already existing thread to say hello in, but looking around, it seems that everyone makes a new thread for their introduction. I'm a 27 year old woman living in New York. I stepped on a scale in August of last year, and was horrified by the numbers I saw, so I decided I needed to make a change. I began working out on August 1st and have lost 61 pounds to date, and am looking to lose 60 more. I just thought this would be a good place to stay informed about exercise and maybe learn some new things, and hopefully share things that have helped me over the last 8 months.

A 60 pound loss is fantastic...congrats! And good luck on the second half of your journey! I just take it one day at a time!

Thanks guys, I really appreciate the encouragement- this seemed like a great place to gain some ideas and read other people's stories- anything to stay motivated! :)

The last time I stepped on a scale, I was arrested for attempted murder. Seriously, I almost killed it.

Yea, I saw numbers that I didn't realize the scale went up to- I guess 10 years of hiding under baggy clothes made it easier to pretend the pounds weren't underneath

yeah, those baggy clothes do you no good. but congrats on dropping those 60 lbs. that's a good chunk of weight!!!

I'm excited to hear that you were able to lose 60 pounds. I'm trying to set my goals and make some progress also.

way to go on the weight loss and welcome to the group.I was in NY just last month. With that kind of food i can see why someone could gain weight!

You're already lost 60 pounds? Wow! Be proud of that, for sure. Congratulations. Welcome to the forum. I'm fairly new to the group too - but everyone is very supportive. If you haven't seen the before and after photo section - take a look over there - these people are amazing. :) Can't wait to hear more of your story!
