Another newbie...

Hey everyone. I just registered here and I'm not really sure where to start. My name is Carly and I'm an 23 year old nurse from NY. I live with my girlfriend and last week we both decided we need to lose weight. We bought all new healthy food and have been doing great. I'm no stranger to weight loss, about 2 years ago I lost 57 pounds, but I gained back 42 of them. I'm ready to lose those again plus 20 more, to hopefully lose a total of 62 pounds. We are going to join a gym tonight (YAY!).

I find that I can go through periods of my life where I eat really well and exercise often and lose a lot of weight and feel great, but I fall back into my old habits of overeating, poor good choices, and laziness. I want to lose this weight and keep it off for good!!

well it looks like you and your gf are taking a really good step towards changing your lives... joining a gym tonight!!! Kudos to you both!!! good luck!!! the support you will find here is really good!!!

oh and i am also looking at losing about 60 pounds soo maybe we can help keep each other motivated!!! ;)
 
Thanks for the welcome. I'm gonna try not to think of just the 60 pounds and maybe set up some mini goals for myself, to keep me motivated and feeling accomplished...I think it would be fun if we could work together.
 
i was actually thinking of making another ticker... and do like 10 pound goals for myself... soo i feel like im getting somewhere a wee bit faster!!!
 
Mini-goal, lets see....

according to my BMI I go from obese to overweight at 169 pounds. I'm 192 now so...that only 23 pounds, so that's a more reasonable goal. Once I start hitting the gym again I'll come up with an exercise goal too, like how many miles to run per week or something...
 
Hi carly nice to meet ya! Welcoem to the board and good luck on your and your g/f's weight loss journey...yeah i cut my total goal in half(47 to get in the 100's again then 30 more lbs after that)...because if i can get thru the first part.....i definitely can get thru the second part!
 
Welcome, it sounds like alot of fun to lose weight with your g/f. I get bored doing it by myself. good luck on your new adventure.:auto:
