I am a 33 year old army wife and mother of two children. My 7 year old son is severely Autistic and I have a 9 year old daughter. I weight 312 pounds and my kids are suffering. I watched a show called X-Weighted here in Canada and it was about a mother that lost weight for her disabled daughter and it just hit home for me. My children are suffering and I need to be in shape to be able to take care of my son long-term. I am just eating healthier for now and not worrying too much about calories or fat grams but I am eating 3 meals and two snacks. I can feel my body starting to go in withdrawal but I am getting through it. My goal is to reach 180lbs so that is a loss of 132 lbs. I am setting 3 month goals and I am only weighing myself once a month. My husband will be gone much of this year and I find it easier to eat right when he is gone so I am doing it. I am going to do it this time.

Your kids are going to be so proud of their new mother Darla and there can't any better incentive than that. You're going to be pretty damn proud of yourself too. Maybe pin a photo of them both on the fridge door to keep reminding yourself of why it's so important and worthwhile. :)

Welcome, Darla! Sounds like you're on the right track, and there are a lot of resources and friendly people here that will help you out. Good luck!

Good for you!! Your kids will be very proud of you, and you will be setting an excellent example for them. You can do this as long as you stay determined! Stick around the board. It is a GREAT resource for support, and you can find the answer to practically any question you might have! Good luck and keep us updated on your progress! :)
