Hi all! Been keeping an eye on this forum and have really enjoyed it. Decided it was time to finally crack the knuckles and join.
I'm a 38 yr old mother to 3. Used to be in great shape most of my 20's and then kids and a little thyroid scuffle happened. Lost my brother in law early this year and decided to take my haphazard working out to the next level when I realized how fleeting life can be when you create your own health problems through neglect and disregard. Enough was enough.
Well, as you can imagine when I post in the Bfore/after, I am well on my way and down about 70lbs with about 55 left to lose. Not sure the specifics since I don't focus on scale since I've always been heavier then what I appear working out because of muscle(I usually weight myself when I'm down a size). I look at inches and clothes. I'm down from a tight 20 to a very comfy size 14 and going strong. The summer was a bit of a plateau, or so I thought. My kids were home and I slacked on the diet some, but then I realized quickly I had been losing on my legs, hiney, and upper body(I tend to focus on tummy and don't see the rest). I was still losing, just not on the midsection(for now). That's changed in the last couple weeks as the tummy seems to be moving down again too.
Anyway, I've achieved the weight loss through diet changes and exercise. I really love the way exercise makes me feel, so even on the blah days, I try to go and am usually glad I did once I'm finished. I'm really excited that I'll be walking into my 40th bday in about 18 months in terrific shape and fit.
My goals are to drop another 50-60 lbs, get to a size 8, and really work even harder on my strength training. I'm just so jazzed to be a fit person again and even though I'm not at my goals, to be in the normal women's clothes
It's fun to shop again!!!
Glad to be here and have really been inspired by the before and afters and I'm sure now your stories and tips.
Good to be here!

Been working out regularly since about February and have put in some change ups during that time. I started out doing about 5 minutes and NO resistance on the eliptical to now doing it 40 minutes and on level 5. As soon as it warmed up here in the spring I started going to the track at the high school too and started with only being able to walk around 4 times(1 mile), to running about half of the 3 miles now and also running the bleachers(that's about 20 times up and down). I love it. Working out is something I really always enjoyed that I'm not sure why I stopped ages ago. I think I was just one of those people who was scared during pregnancy that I'd hurt the baby and it just snowballed from there. Forget about the weight, I couldn't believe I let myself get so unfit that I could barely finish 5 minutes on an aerobics machine at first
