Hey everyone!

So, I've always heard that when you're trying to lose weight or adopt a new healthy lifestyle, that you should have a community to support you so that's how I ended up here. I've pretty much been overweight since I hit puberty in middle school (I'm a junior in undergrad now). Every now and then I get motivated and lose weight, but I always gain it back. The last time this happened, I stopped working out and watching what I ate because of all of the negative comments I was getting from my mom about how "she couldn't tell I was losing weight". It really got to me so I just stopped caring. This semester was really busy so I always felt to exhausted and had no motivation to go to the gym, and instead of preparing healthy meals, I just ate out all the time. My hormones were all out pf whack because I stopped taking birth control the way I should and my weight skyrocketed. I'm 5'4 and my weight usually lies between 165 and 175 at the highest. However, when I stepped on a scale before the holidays I was at 178, and after the holidays I was 187.

I was absolutely horrified and realized that I needed to make a change. I started counting calories and eating healthy again. I've been kickboxing everyday and since I started I've lost 7.4 lbs, which puts me back at 179.4. Instead of letting all of the negative comments get to me, I've decided to let them motivate me. However, it gets hard when I'm the only one who can believes that I can do it. So, i'm here looking to connect with everyone and help people fight and stay motivated. Hopefully, I'll find a great time =)

OMG.... i love your name fighting4me.... this is something that you need to do for yourself noone else..seems you have that figured out already =)

I most defiantly believe you can do this. Sounds to me like your a fighter and a winner. Not sure where your mom's coming from but remember your doing this for you and your future.

Maybe try keeping a journal with everything you eat and your weigh-ins each week. Maybe take a picture each month so YOU can see the difference. Keep up your kickboxing and your sure to start toning really fast..youll see such a difference.

Good luck and hope we can keep each other motivated

Thank you so much for the inspiring reply! I actually do have an online calorie journal already, and it's by far, one of the most useful tools for this journey. Good luck as well =)

I'm doing well! I've been staying strong and I lost 4 lbs during my weekly weigh in! How are you doing? I hope all is well on your end =)
