Ankle pain right above my ankle bone from running?

Hey everyone,

So I have been running for about 4 months now, and have worked up to running 10km. I started out running 1 minute, walking 1 minute, and have gotten up to running for 9 minutes, then walk for 1 minute. Every week I increase my distance very slightly. My joints feel fine up until about 30min into my run. Then I develope a pian right above my ankle bone on the inside of my ankle that feels like the tendon is pulling. If I stop and walk, it goes away in a few minutes and I can run again for about 6 minutes until it starts to hurt. If I try to push through the pain, my knees start to really hurt right under my knee cap, and they stay sore for a few days. Sometimes it is my left ankle, sometimes it's my right, sometimes both. Does anybody know what could be causing this? I have tried different shoes, icing, shortening my stride, etc.

Thanks so much!

Hey Christine,

You're probably best off to have your physician or physiotherapist check out your ankle and advise you on what to do. Just be careful about looking for a diagnosis from a forum...

Good luck!
