...And it Begins

I am new here... So first and foremost I would like to say hello to everyone. I started my diet about a week ago but really decided that 2010 would be my year on Tuesday. I have always been thin until the past few years and now it is time to kick that in the butt and shed the extra pounds...

So I have a Wii, the Wii fit and the Wii biggest loser. So I have been doing that every night with a little time on the recumbent bike as well as the eliptical. I weighed in (hold on to your seats) at 300lbs :eek:. I know, I know it made me gasp too. So I am changing the way I am eating and working out. I have always been a very active person, but I have noticed for the last 2+/- years I have been kind of lazy. So no more of that.

I figure my horse is now 17 and I only have a few years left to show him, and I want to be able to make the most of it. And my 300lb physique is not part of the plan, so it has got to go!! So here I go.
 
I just wanted to say hi and congrats on starting your weight loss journey! I just recently bought a Wii myself, though I don't have the Wii fit yet (can't afford it at the moment). A game I really like is called Just Dance. It's really fun and gets you moving! It's an awesome game with a group of people as well. If you can find it in the stores I would definintely get it! I tried to buy it in my town and it was sold out everywhere I had to order it on amazon! Anyways, enough about that game!

Just to tell you a little about myself as an introduction... I joined this forum so long ago but I stopped coming on. I had lost a bunch of weight and gained a lot of it back. What I was doing wasn't working so I am back now (after almost a year of not logging on!) I have a diary of my own (just search for Risty and it should pop up! The more support, the better!

Hey Risty... I have heard a lot about the Just Dance game. I have not purchased it yet but that is one that I plan to get. So far I am loving the Wii though... the biggest loser game will kick your @ss... But thats what I need right now.

I am not good with posting on forums and I have absolutely no idea how to do a diary. Actaully I posted my first thread ever today... read them all the time but never actually did one. Good luck with your weight loss... If you ever need someone to tell you to back away from the cupcake, I am your girl, lol.
 
Yeah it's a really awesome game! My sisters and I played it for so long and even though the Wii controller isn't heavy, a couple hours of that dancing and your hands in the air... my arms were sore the next day (I held a controller in the other hand at the same time just to have it the same, as I was noticing my right arm was starting to get sore so I thought I should probably hold something in my left arm to keep things even, lol.)

To start a diary it's really easy. You go to the main page that has all the different links and you scroll down to the section "Diet and Motivation". In that section you would go into "weight loss diary" and once you're in there click on "new thread". Then that new thread will be your diary, title it how you want it to appear and just post an intro like why you're here, what your goals are, etc.
