Okay, so I made the switch from WLF to Training by a bit of persuasion from the ultimate motivator - Chillen. (I have read some of your other posts and your tips are great and motivators are priceless. )
I will continue to post each days workout and thoughts, keep myself motivated by searching new tips, and visualize the results that I want.
Here are my first two post from WLF, just so you know where I am coming from:
I am a 39 year old High School English Teacher and Volleyball coach; needless to say, for the last 9 years I have NOT been the ideal role model of physical fitness. I have been making excuse after excuse to keep myself from feeling fit and healthy and I am ready for change. Why now, you ask? Hmmm...maybe it is the fact that I can no longer hit a volleyball the way I did 10 years ago, maybe it is the fact that I can no longer fit into ANY of the clothes (that I have an insane amount of love for) in my closet, or maybe it's just plain pride - or the fact that I have none. No pride in myself, no pride in my athletic ability, no pride in my sad attempt at being a role model for my volleyball girls. I have made a commitment to begin P90X tomorrow and am ready to work my rear off to become a strong, fit, healthy woman. Day 1 starts tomorrow and I will post everyday after my workouts. Some workouts will be in the morning, some in the afternoon, and some at night as I have a truly unpredictable schedule, but (mark my words - counselor) I will complete the workouts daily. In the past, I have had a huge problem with commitment, I start....I quit. I am hoping that because I have chosen to document everything here I will not be a quitter, by having others read my progress and journaling I hope to find encouragement and helpful tips to be successful on this journey.
Many thanks for all the kind words of encouragement. I am really looking forward to journaling dailly to keep myself accountable and track my progress. I will also be taking my 'before" photos tonight so I can see visilbe results at the 30, 60, and 90 day marks.
I just finished my first workout of P90X and feel great!! I was able to complete about 1/2 of the reps that Tony and his crew did, but I kept moving, to keep my heart rate up, until the next excercise began. I focused on my form more than the number of reps I could complete because, let me tell you, I want push ups to become my buddy...right now push ups are from the devil! I will not focus on what I can't do, but what I just did. I just completed day one of transforming my body into being stonger and healthier.
Current body weight = 189.2 BMI = 28.70
Goal body weight - 145 BMI = 19.5
Today was day two of P90X and I rocked it. I was able to keep up much better with the DVD and focused on form vs. reps. I also walked 5 miles with my friend, which was a bonus on top of the P90X. I feel like I was more aware of my protein, carb, and fat intake today. After working so stinkin hard I wasn't going to wreck it with eating useless calories. I have no energy right now for wit, so I am signing off
