But if I can do it, you can do it! =D

What are your plans? Like diet wise?

Diet wise i'm sticking to whole foods and avoiding anything processed. Steamed veggies with most meals.

For breakfast today i'm shoving down 1/2 cup of oats and 1/4 cup flax seed before i head off to the pool in an hour.

I was actually surprised i was 110 Kg. I thought i was about 100 Kg.. Shock horror lol.

Exercise wise i'm still doing great and eating well. Mentally i feel a bit drained as i'm still missing my ex gf so very much after 3 weeks and i am craving intimacy. I feel like i'd jump into bed with anyone at this point just to fill the void she's left.

Of all this can lead to emotional eating which is my biggest problem.

I'm at day 4 and feeling great. I felt really good in the pool today and did an extra 10 laps. Can't believe in 4 weeks i've gone from 4 laps the very first day to 40 laps today. That's 2 KM of swimming. I'm going to do 30 tomorrow and starting next week push up to 40 laps per day for the week.

I've yet to bust and eat for emotional reasons yet even though i'm going through a break up the exercise is keeping that at bay.

Sorry to hear about your breakup, but really glad to hear that you are starting to take your life and health into your own hands!

Don't push yourself way too far.. it's more important to keep going than to go every now and then while swimming a whole lot at those sparatic times. Is there anything else you are doing for exercise right now? You may want to check out what people are suggesting around the forums and in the stickies.

Good luck and keep on going with your swimming!

Yeah it may be a bit much but i'm really enjoying it so i figured what the hell why not. I wasn't that tired by the end of it.

I also take a walk in the evening. It's roughly 6Km and takes me about an hour then i have a small dinner when i get back.

I'd like to jog but i know i'll get shin splints until i lose a bit of weight so once i drop 15 or so kg's ill split it up between jogging swimming and adding weights back into the agenda.

5 days down and i've stuck to my diet.

I did another 40 laps today. Felt really good in the pool so i though why not ? This week i've swam 170 laps for a grand total of 7 Km. I've got Sat/Sun to rest and then back into the pool on Monday although i'll still take a walk in the evenings on the weekend.

Great job sticking to your diet! =)
Do you feel change?
What kinda stuff do you eat?

Hey,

I feel a change in my attitude toward eating that's for sure. I've already been exercising regularly for the past month so i feel i can handle a bit extra.

Food wise i might eat

Meal 1 - 1/2 Cup Oats with 1 Banana
Meal 2 - 1 Scoop Whey with 1 Banana, 1/2 cup oats, 1/2 cup low fat yogurt.
Meal 3 - 200g Chicken Breast with steamed veggies
Meal 4 - Mixed veggie stir fry
Meal 5 - I'll usually have blueberries or a mango before i goto bed.

This isn't so typical as i may have different meals at different times or have fish instead of chicken etc.

According to Fitday i'm eating approx 1900 calories per day and burning 600-800 calories per day through exercise depending on how much i swim.

so u see some changes yet?? and good that u r sticking to ur diet!! im finding it so hard :(

Well i'm only in the first week of watching what i eat so i don't want to get too excited. The hard part for me is sticking with it in the long term and emotional eating.

As for change, i'll find out tomorrow when i weight and measure myself to see what's happened.

I reckon you're bound to get a nice change at the scales, but whether or not, you still are doing really well with your food and exercise choices at the moment.

Good for you on sticking with the exercise and control rather than giving in to emotional eating. I've had to try and deal with that recently too. For those of us who have a tendency to eat for emotional reasons, practicing resisting that urge may be the most important weight loss skill there is.

It's nice to see someone else here using swimming as an exercise. I find it hard to get to a pool every day, but I love to go when I can. Today was the first time I've tried a few freestyle laps for a few years (still the slowest there ). I hope I can work my way up to doing a bunch of laps like you over the summer - I know I don't get to the pool often enough to do it in 4 weeks. (Nice result!! :)) I like to walk too, but I love the amount of all over body workout you can get in a pool.

I'm a big emotional eater. I think it's something most people associate with women but i think men are just as susceptible to it as well. I think the key for me is not that i have the will power or determination but rather being single again i've got to get myself back into shape.

Anyway, i lost weight this week so i'm pretty happy :)

I lost 2 Kg / 4 lbs and 4cm / 1.5 In off my waistline.

Heh nice picture.

Another 40 laps down today. Only 3 people at the pool. Some chick comes and sits on the edge of my lane and knocks off my water bottle. I'm like.. WTF

Well some people just don't get it about respecting space... and sometimes another swimmer can be worth checking out, you know? I guess she thought you were worth it. :D

Struggled in the pool today with sore triceps but i finished my 40 laps, came home for a shower and to my shock and horror i have a speedo tan.. and it's so obvious not sure how i didn't notice it lol.

Diet is still in check. Rather surprised at that. No cravings for chocolate as of yet.
