AmbaLove is Tracking the Journey!

Yeah, I'm not really that worried about. I figure I still lost 1.6 lbs, so I'm definately on the right track.

Hi Amber

I am pleased that the dietician is working for you. I would definitely be counting the 4.4 pounds bringing to a new low. The gain is probably temporary. We all get day to day fluctuations but when you get a new low you reclaim the territory.

Take care
Love
Margaret

Hi Amber
Glad to see you back in your journal again. Sorry you've been having such a rough time lately! PCOS bites the big one, all right. And the other things going on don't help, either. So ((hugs)) to you!

Good on you for getting back on the WL wagon! So pleased that your new dietician is working out. You are getting near to One-derland...

Cheers on your continued journey :driving:

I'm fine, the tornadoes were quite a bit away from here.

I lost 0.6 lbs this week. Not great, but a loss is a loss. I'm going down, whether its in lbs or ozs!

Glad to hear that re the tornadoes.

Yup, a loss is a loss. :D

Hey, you are near the Ozarks, aren't you? I was just reading Laura Ingalls Wilder's book that details their journey from S. Dakota to Mansfield, MO where she and her H settled permanently. It sounds like it's really pretty around there. :)

I hope that things are going well. I am pleased to hear that you didnt get hit by tornadoes.

A weight loss is always worth celebrating.

Everything is fine, just the end of the school year hecticness has set in! Friday will be our last day (HOORAY!). UNfortunately, we missed 8 days this winter and did not get a chance to make up the last one, so for the next 4 days, I have to go in 1.5 hrs early and stay 1.5 hours late. So, after Friday, I'll have time to catch up...until then, I don't even have time to breathe!

glad to hear you're okay, just busy. Looking forward to having you around more over the summer. :) YOu have to make up all your snow days? Here they automatically factor in several of them, so we have to have about 8 or so before they have to make up any...lol.

Highlights of my week:
Lost 2.8 lbs
Bought an iPod Touch (so freaking cool)
Got my eyebrows waxed for the first time (OUCH, but they look fantastic)

Glad to hear about all that weight loss..wow is all I can say! The eyebrows are a very prominent part of our face and one's whole face can be really played up by having them groomed nicely. Any pics of the eyebrows?? haha

Well, I lost 1.5 lbs this week and was measured and have lost 7 inches overall since starting back with the dietician. I still liked my old dietician better and wish she was still there, but this one is doing the job well (she's just not as personally nice and friendly).

I am looking forward to a good weight dropping summer!

I just used a Wii Fit for the first time. I was skeptical, I mean, come on! It's a video game. But...I used it for 25 minutes and definately broke a sweat. I also logged over 1000 steps. Not bad.

I wouldn't replace regular exercise with this, but on days I cannot go to the gym, it will be great.

Congrats on another 1.5lbs down!

I have to give the wii people credit for making a video game that actually gets people off their arses and active. Glad you enjoyed it. :)

The Wii Fit "game" has four sections.

There is a yoga section, in which you stand on the balance board and it measures your success in holding the position for 30 secs-2 min (depending on the pose) by tracking your center of gravity and stillness. Some poses are easy, some are super hard. I think a yoga class would be more beneficial but it is a fun way to do it at home.

There is a balance games section, which I feel is the least like exercise, but balance is a good thing to work on for other reasons...like simply not walking into things like I tend to do on a regular basis. It also helps you with posture, which makes you look better anyway.

There is a cardio section, with things like jogging in place (or back and forth in range of the sensors), hula hooping (which I thought was pointless the first time I did it for 2 minutes, but now that I do 10 minutes, you do work up a sweat!) and step arobics (basically like DDR).

Then there is the strength section, which is push ups, situps and body resistance exercises. At first I wondered if these would be helpful, but oh, yeah, you feel it in you muscles. Also, I discovered the military trains almost entirely by using your own body weight against you, so its obviously effective.

That wii sports sounds good. Maybe if more kids start playing that instead of other video games, the childhood obesity/type 2 diabetes rates will go down. :)
