Am I doing this right?! Pls Help!

Hey all! I recently just started working out really hard and eatting right but I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong. I know my workout is good... but the amount of food I'm eatting is questionable.

As I understand... in order to lose 2 lbs. a week....I need to limit food intake to only 1500 calories. Well, I've been writing down my calories and food in a a little journal...and I'm under 1500. My question is... will this make my body go into starvation mode?

Say I'm at 1,000 calories for the day. But then I go and burn 700 more from working out. That leaves me with only 300 for the day!! I feel that it might be unsafe.

If you would... Please take a look at about what I eat most every day... and tell me if this is okay.... or if I need to add something... such as nuts or maybe even a protien shake or two?? Any help would be muuuch appreciated bc I've been a lil stressed out about it. I don't want to be doing all this hard work and it not paying off!! (o:

Morning:
normally about 9:45 or 10:45
100 cals. 4 egg whites
75. cals 1/4 cut of oatmeal

Lunch:
Normally about 1 or 2 in the afternoon
Not totally for sure but I'm guessing with the leaves... carrots, broccoli, and baby tomatoes (salad) about 50 calories
100 calories - either chicken, tilapia, 6 pieces of turkey meat, or salmon

Snack:
normally about 5 or 6 in the afternoon
78 cals. - grapefruit

Dinner
around 7, 8:30 or even as late as 10 (depending on work)
100 cals Chicken, salmon, tilapia, tuna, porkchops ( I chose one of them)
60 cals for a cup of mixed veges
60 cals salsa for on top of ckn.

I normally snack on sugar free jello after meals... which is only about 5-10 calories per serving.

Anyway...my point being... when I add all this up... its normally between 800-1100 each day.... and I work out 4-6 times a week doing cardio everday with some weight lifting afterward. So after I get done working out my calories are even LOWER. Is this dangerous/unhealthy?? I really want to lose weight the healthy way... But I want to lose the 2 lbs a week. Any advice would be extremely helpful and appreciated!! Thx so much!

No one can help me? )o:

I am short on time but the short of it is this...

What you are doing isn't healthy and will make your fat loss harder. you need to up your calories.

With someone your size it isn't recommended to lose 2 lbs a week. That is the price you pay for being smaller. You can lose it smart and a little slower and not run into any problems, or you can lose it to fast, most likely be water, hurt your health and gain it back.

To help more when I can come back...

How long have you been eating this caloric amount?
What is your workout routine in detail?

John Berardi discusses something called metabolic flux in his book, The Metabolism Advantage. Basically it refers to the intake of calories, and the burning of calories through exercise. You want your metabolic flux to be high! Exercise is great, but you have to be eating more to fuel your body.

What your doing will help you lose weight, and you will lose it fast too. However your metabolism is going to trip and fall straight on its face. Whats gonna happen is your gonna lose alot of that weight, and be happy. You'll think you can cut back on your exercise, and cheat your diet a little. Well you'll be so amazed at how fast you gain it all back. If i were you i would stick to the same foods, maybe even same meals, but add some in between meals. Try to get a little protein at every meal/snack. Just to get your metabolism up, once you do you'll be shocked by how much more fat you can burn with a pumping metabolism. It would help if you figured out how many calories you need daily, and then determine how much your actually burning, you might be suprised by how much you burn throughout the day just living. There are many calculators online that will help you determine this information. However if you just want to lose a quick ten pounds a low calorie diet is not a bad thing, just not something you should pursue over a long period of time, or repeat that often as it can permanently damage your metabolism. Hope this helps.

I've been eatting this way for a couple weeks now.

My workout consists of working out 5 times a week... Cardio each day for an hour... and I weight train (diff muscle each day). Cardio is a mix. Sometimes I run/walk for an hour... eliptical, treadclimber. Just depends what I'm in the mood for.

I added a protein shake to my diet in the mornings before I work out... and I added almonds in after lunch... in between my lunch and grapefruit snack. So its kinda like having 5 small meals.
