Hi everyone, I've recently started trying to lose weight after putting on the pounds for last 8 or so years. I ballooned up to a whopping 428 pounds... Ouch, right?
Anyways I've started two weeks ago and am wondering if I am doing things the correct way.
I've completely changed my diet around. Before I was skipping breakfast, then eating 3 ham and cheese sandwiches (just meat, cheese, and mayo) and for supper I would eat another 3 sandwiches with a big handful of chips.
Now I changed it up so for breakfast I eat 2 apples along with my coffee, for lunch i eat a big handful of baby carrots along with 4 slices of ham and another two apples, and for supper I eat two ham and cheese sandwhiches with 2 slices of ham, light mayo, tomato, lettuce, and onions, along with a larger burgerking size fruit punch crystal light and a serving size of baked lays chips. Throughout the day I end up drinking between 5 and 6 of those size cups of water (42 oz per glass)
I've also started an exercise routine. The first day I did like 8 minutes on the treadmill at 2 mph for a total of around .25 mile. After the treadmill I started with 1 set of weights for curls, decline, and incline bench, shoulder raises, and tricep extensions (all with free weights at 20 pounds in each hand).
Since that time, (12 days later) I am up to 26 minutes on the treadmill at 2.3 mph (did .92 miles today) and now instead of one set of each weight excercies, i do 3 sets and 22.5 lbs in each hand.
So far I have lost 22 lbs and I'm feeling really good. But what I would like to know is, am I doing things right? Like, should I be taking vitamin supplements, change the way my diet is, change my workout and so on. Like I said, I am feeling good and don't get hungry during the day, but I want to make sure I am not doing things wrong to where in the long run it could backfire on me.
