Just found this forum day before yesterday and I felt compelled to join up and try to find some kindred spirits to share my journey with.
Little history about myself...
I've always been overweight. My whole family is overweight. It's all I've ever known. There was a brief period in my teens where I got down to 127 lbs and a size 8 but thats the smallest I've ever been. Currently I'm 219 which happens to be the heaviest I've ever been. Due to panic attacks and a very stressful job, I was placed on Zoloft about a month ago which at first I lost a few lbs but now I've put on about 5lbs. I feel great though now...mentally and my life is really great but I do need to shed these lbs. My goal is pretty lofty at 119 lbs. I don't think I ever weighed so little except in my elementary school days. How sad is that?
This week I've started pretty slow getting myself used to being on a diet again, but after reading some of the storys here, I've become quite motivated! Today is the day I will offically start this lifestyle change. I bought a exercise ball to sit on while at work...instead of slouching in a comfy chair all day my abs and back and legs can get a work out while I type!
I've also been packing my lunch to work all this week...thank god for 100 cal snack packs! Bringing my lunch from home helps me with temptation from fast food joints or eating larger portions that I need. Not to mention it saves me money! Tonight on my way home I am going to stop by the grocery store and stock up on veggies and chicken so I can --really-- start counting my calories.
To lose weight, according to the caloric chart on this site, I should eat no more than 1800 calories a day. So that in mind...I'm gonna do it this time! I am also supposed to drink 90ish ML of water a day..roughly 3 quarts. This is gonna be my hardest battle as I do not enjoy drinking that much water daily.
Exercise is another battle. I'm gonna check out Bailys this weekend.
Long post...I apologize! But I do have a question for you folks...
Dealing with hunger...How do you guys do it? I get aweful headaches or dizziness if I don't eat enough.
Dealing with trips to the bathroom...Does it get better? Feel's like I'm on a non-stop pee'n marathon!!
Thanks in advance and thanks for having me!
