My name is Troy, and I'm 22 years of age at this moment in time. I'm about 5 foot 8 and right now roughly 210lbs. Which I'm told is considered to be Overweight, maybe even pushing Obese! Understandable! I'm also told I should be about 165-170lbs given my height. But I feel that 180-190 would do me fine for right now. I'm a pretty muscular guy if I can toot my own horn, average or so, but the fat covers it up for the most part.

Little Background- In middle school I gained a lot of weight, I shot up to about 220 or 225lbs like it was my job. This just wasn't going to cut it, so before entering high school I was able to drop to 180-190lbs. I give ranges because my weight seems to fluctuate up and down, but pretty much always stays within that 10pound range. Apparently even then I was considered overweight and even in high school I knew I could do to lose a few pounds, but looking back at old pictures now I'd kill just to be that size again. After high school I hit a high of 250lbs and once again went on the defense.... Now here we are, for the last, maybe two years, I've been between 210-220lbs, but it's time for a change.

I decided two weeks ago to start making those changes. So far my thing has been portion control, and watching calories. Can't say I've completely eliminated snacks, but hey if the pringles can says 14 chips for a serving I'm only having half that or less. If the brownie looks good, give me a little taste just not the whole thing. I try my hardest to avoid fast food now, at all costs. And my biggest switch has been from drinking Iced Tea, I drank that like it was my job (store bought or home made) but now I'm drinking water mostly, on occasion a glass or two of tea a week, give or take. And sometimes do to my lifestyle I'm in a position where soda is the only option, in that case it's diet soda and I watch how much I drink.

I can't honestly tell you what I was two weeks ago, maybe 215lbs or so, when I decided all this, but yesterday I was about 210lbs (my scale read 209.4, but rounding works.) I haven't done much exercise lately, but I'm hoping to pick up on that this week. I'm an outside kind of guy, and it's still a little chilly here, but I know if I can keep with this, once those warmer days come in I'll be all over being outside and getting the workouts.

My Goals - My short term goal right now is to find myself under 200lbs, and quit smoking. I forgot to mention that part, I've been smoking a few years, but I'm ready to be done with it. My long term goal is to get to that 170-180 mark, and go from there.
