Alligatorob's Diary

It was a hard day, I struggled as much as I have since starting this diet. Don't know quite why. I did make it in the end, did not binge, stayed on the calorie track and got some PT exercise. So the day could have been worse... Tomorrow is another day, hopefully an easier one.
Are you eating more fat for satiety or do you need to put back on some weight? Nice you are to that point where you are purposely eating more calories!
Just trying to find a way to limit my urges,

Looks like I missed posting last night, typed it in, but just hit the button.

Today was a better day, I am still feeling urges, but not so bad. I ate well, exercised (2+ hours in the gym) and feel good tonight.

I had a hard day, too, must be something in the air. Glad you made it through ok, and that today was better! Wow, more than 2 hours in the gym!!

Today was not a bad day, I did go 18 calories over my target, I think this is the first time I have knowingly gone over target. I know 18 calories is nothing, less than half a grapefruit, but I don't want to make a habit of it. Did over 2 hours at the gym and it was easier than yesterday. And tonight I feel good! All in all a good day.

Sorry for that, but it seems to be the nature of this thing, some days are just harder than others... What matters is what we do on the harder days.
Yay for better days!
Thanks LaMa, better days are, well better!

It was a better day, I ate well went to PT for exercise, and feel good tonight. I have decided to cut back on my PT sessions, will try just going every couple of weeks, and keep the exercise up at home. Hope it works.

It's definitely worth a try and if it ends up not working you're allowed to change things back. People who take control of theor own recovery tend to be successful patients.

Thanks LaMa, I will just have to see how it goes.

Not my best day so far. After my new low weight this morning I suddenly felt ill, half way through breakfast. First time I have left a meal uneaten I can remember... Feeling a little better now, but no gym for me today, got some sleep instead.

My wife thought I needed some "real" food and gave me a small toasted waffle with peanut butter. I ate it and it did seem to help. Pretty sure this ain't the virus, taste and smell are fine.

Hope whatever bugged you will be fully gone by the end of the day. That new low weight might explain your increased hunger in the past few days though.

I hope you feel a lot better in the morning, Rob! When were you thinking of eating "real" food again? Is it time to experiment a little with cooking stir-fries or healthy soups & casseroles? I'm sure you have the know-how now to be able to work out healthy portions of lean steak, grilled fish or some other lean meat to have with your veggies. Does an omelette appeal or a frittata?

The day got better, I ate a bit more "normal" food and feel a bit better, not 100% but getting closer.
Hope whatever it was has passed, if not get well soon!
Thanks Err, it is passing.

Its mostly gone, but I plan to take it easy again tomorrow. And have decided to up my calorie goal a little, for now I am going to shoot to stay under 1,750 calories per day.
When were you thinking of eating "real" food again?
I've been thinking about it for a while now, I just need to actually start, I did a bit better today. Will try to be more normal again tomorrow. More cereal and fewer veggies. Will still eat a lot of veggies, just trying to get closer to something more normal.

I was thinking more food like eggs, chicken, fish etc. I'm not a big fan of cereal & find that I gain weight too easily eating bread. I would find it hard eating different food to G all of the time. Does your wife miss eating the same food? Does she like cooking & if so what does she normally eat? It will be good for you to add some more calories I think.

Yay, more calories! Maybe you could start by having the same dinner as your wife, in a reasonable portion, possibly with extra veg, and planning the rest of your day around that?

To me it looks like you're eating "real" food now. If it works, why mess with it? But if it is causing issues, I second LaMa's suggestion to portion control (almost) whatever everyone else is eating.

I don’t think Rob takes our advice as anything other than friendly, well-meaning suggestions. He’s his own man :)

I agree that it's real food. My thinking was that food has more roles in our lives than "just" sustenance and if it's possible without regaining it could be healthy to start enjoying the social aspect of it again as well.
