Alligatorob's Diary

Great pic, Rob. I lost muscle & fat when I lost 36 kg back in 2007 & was not as strong as I was. Maybe when you are eating at maintenance calories you could concentrate on building your strength. You look very healthy & fit :)

Today was a good day, but no exercise. I ate about 1,300 calories, including some of yesterday's catch. Tomorrow I go with a friend to move his boat, it will be an all day ~200 km trip on the water, mostly in the Gulf of Mexico. Just holding on to the boat is usually a lot of work, but that may be my only exercise.

Sounds like a lot of fun. Vacation time has different kinds of movement and that's ok. Not everything has to be formal exercise.

A long day, and probably not a very good eating day. I only had a Cuban sandwich for dinner, it was probably 800+ calories but was all I got. Most of the day was spent on the water transporting a boat, we went about 200 km through the Gulf. Early start and I got up too late for breakfast, then didn't have a chance to get lunch. It was an enjoyable ride, I got to see things from the water I have not seen in many years. More scenic than the fishing trip we were always within sight of land, sometimes pretty close. Tomorrow will be a better food day, I head north to see my brothers and will have more control over what I eat.

Maybe try for a slightly higher calorie day tomorrow(/today when you read this?) if it doesn´t make you feel sick. 1600-1800 calories? First because you need to fuel your body when you´re on an active holiday and second because it might be interesting to start pushing toward more "normal" calories some days.

Yes would love to see those calories go up! And what better time than a holiday for a nice experiment :)

Not a bad day, I spent a lot of it driving to my brother's house in North Florida. I ate a few more calories, but am not sure how many. I had an apple and a banana for breakfast, a banana and 240 calories of jerky for lunch. I had 3 Coors light beers, a small bowl of vegetable soup, a salad without dressing, and a piece of bbq'd chicken breast for dinner. No real exercise. Tomorrow may be fishing, but it is windy so maybe not. We will see. My brother's house from his dock:

1050 or so before dinner. A whole chicken breast is 165 kcal according to the internet, for a 1215 total before sauce/oil/seasonings. So maybe 1500 if you ate the whole thing and it was dripping with fat?

i'd probably caveat a +/-20% to kcal/ chicken breasts.

not only do they come in the 4-6+ lb range (whole chickens... practically), but as someone who always tries to make it a 50/50 split, more often it turns out to be more like 60/40.

Rob I love the photo .
Well you know my thoughts on you not eating . I'm glad your not like me and get faint because I would have been on the floor of the boat with no breakfast or lunch . It's time you brought yourself a lunch box .

But well done on sticking to diet. I so so want your will power

True of course, but then I was going off averages for the rest as well.

Thanks all, today was a good day, no fishing but I spent it with my brothers looking at things and visiting old friends. For breakfast I have one biscuit (American) and 2 small sausage patties. For lunch a salad with no dressing but a lot of broiled shrimp. In the afternoon I have a Landshark beer with an old friend. For dinner we went out and I had a salad, no dressing, a large "dry broiled" flounder advertised as low calorie, and I ate one medium sized hush puppy. This evening I am having a yogurt snack. My best estimate is 1,300 to 1,400 calories for the day, not bad. Tomorrow we will attempt to go fishing, today was too windy.

My brother's house is in a very nice spot, and Cate there are alligators, but I have not seen one on this trip. Have seen a smallish shark, a big tarpon, and several dauphins, among other things.

Went to see the house we sold in the Utah move, here is a view from our old gazebo.

Another gorgeous picture. Sounds like you're doing great, despite the temptations. It may be harder with all these high-calorie foods right in front of your nose but moderation in real-world conditions is where you prove you can be successful long-term. And you're doing it!
