Alli might cause liver damage

Do note that it does say rare cases but to me, it's another case of you can do this without these pills that we learn later on does damage to your liver, heart and body.

I agree. Ok, yes, it's in very rare cases, but that won't mean a hill of beans if you are one of those rare cases. There seems to be a trend with weight loss pills later being discovered to be dangerous, has anyone else noticed that? I'll stick to will power and healthy choices, thanks.

I would say it is because people don't follow directions...

With ephedra people were having problems and dying because they were taking way more than was recommended. Now, I am not saying they are healthy or good for you, but people who are desperate to lose weight with a "magic pill" do some stupid stuff, and it could probably be an easy thought to think "hey, if 2 pills works then maybe if I take 3 or 4 I will lose more weight faster."

Well if they go test it on rats before depositing it into local pharmacys, what do you expect? there is no way a rat (or monkey or rabbit or any other animal) will have the same genetic make up as a human. They test this thing out on the animals, they don't drop dead so they test it out on a handful of human volunteers who take the pill for maybe a month, this then "proves" the product is safe. But of course what it does not do is test out the long term side effects.

Yup, its calorie counting all the way IMO, at least then you know more about what your dealing with.

I used to take ephedra before it got banned. It never did anything bad to me. Probably because I never exceeded half the recommended dose.

Never heard of Alli, but I'll be sure to stay away from it.

I took Alli last year for a short time along with a crash diet. Basically I went the wrong way about it. Allie blocks up to 50% of the fat you eat and pass it to your stool. (including good fats)The side effects are nothing less then disgusting. I wont get into them, if you really want to know read the reviews on amazon.com there is more then 400 feedback i think for it.

I am loosing just as much weight if not more on a healthy diet and exercise now. Sometimes i wonder if thats the natural order of things. People try crash diets and pills at first and fail. then try again months later the "correct" way once its sunk in there is no shortcuts.

My co-workers are always trying gimmicks and fad diets, all of which maybe lasts 3 days. But I think their experience with the Alli pill was the most memorable. Both of them ended up crapping their pants...one at work and one on the way home (yes she was dumb enough to come back to work the next day and admit it). And from what I've heard this is a very common side effect.
Organ failure in some rare cases...yea we hear that all the time about everything and it does give me pause. But very likely to crap your pants in public places? NO THANK YOU

P.S. If you want a good laugh google it...there's some funny stories and blogs so I guess my co-workers experience was as common as I've heard.
