You need to be eating more, mate. At least 1200 a day. Eating that little will hinder your weight loss, not help it.

Thanks Sunflower.. I know, I try to but every time I feel so bad. Its a mental thing for me i think. Hoping today is better, I'm going to go out and eat tofu.

Try just thinking of your body being a vehicle, and every vehicle needs a certain amount of fuel to run!
Hope you have a great day :)

Hey Akani,

Sorry been away from the computer for bit. I agree with Daybehaviour- there are so many reasons for weight fluctuation-take it a day at a time. Here is a suggestion. Maybe instead of eating peanut butter, maybe you should mix the diet up a bit. Get some meat protein and greens in there. That way I don't think you'll feel that bad about the calories because what you will be taking in will be healthy.

Also, you are right, you keep up with the exercise and proper nutrition- at one point your body will start to reflect this. Because we are on the lower end of the weight scale (copmpared to a lot of people on here) it is going to be harder for us to lose weight and we may not be able to lose as quickly- but we'll get there. It's really easy to lose faith, believe you me, I've had my setbacks this Fri and Sat- I binged- I am an emotional eater...but I need to condition myself to not let ME get to ME. This is a long-term game. It is a lifestyle change...so...keep at it.

Hey dear,

Woops, sorry, didn't know you were vegetarian! Looking forward to your weigh-in tomorrow!

Hey Akani! Just caught up with your diary. Saw you're doing a half marathon, good luck with training! I'm hoping for a half next fall, I've got a big relay race to tackle first. Everyone else has said it already, but they are right.. Make sure you eat enough! If your body gets used to so few calories it will go into conservation mode, and will burn less as a result. At least try to get in one high calorie day for every few low cal days.. Keep your body guessing.

@ Laura- thanks! hopefully in January, I'll be ready!!

So weigh in was this morning: My weight: 107 pounds!

I lost 2 pounds this last week!

My weekly goal for this week. Lose another 2 pounds and go from 107 to 105.

Have a great week everyone!

I'm laying in bed right now under the covers...argh...no motivation to go to the gym at all today. God, please help me go to the gym today!

Please eat more :( 660 calories when you burnt over 800 is just insane and so, so un-healthy :( It seems to me that you're starving yourself. I know you don't weigh much so you don't need as much as most people on here but at LEAST over 1000 is still needed. You are actually hindering your progress in the long run. I read this today:

"Why does a very low calorie intake slow down weight loss?

Quite simply, your body goes into 'starvation mode'. This mechanism, which is thought to have evolved as a defence against starvation, means the body becomes super efficient at making the most of the calories it does get from food and drink. The main way it does this is to protect its fat stores and instead use lean tissue or muscle to provide it with some of the calories it needs to keep functioning. This directly leads to a loss of muscle, which in turn lowers metabolic rate so that the body needs fewer calories to keep ticking over and weight loss slows down. Of course, this is the perfect solution if you're in a famine situation. But if you're trying to lose weight, it's going to do little to help you shift those unwanted pounds."

That's the last I'll say on it and I don't want to come across like I'm lecturing you but I'm genuinely concerned for your health.

It's almost 8am here. I'm trying to muster up motivation to jog 5 miles this morning. I know I will go, but to enjoy it? Later on I will also be going to the gym for 2 hours. I have a 5 mile Turkey Trot I'm running tomorrow as charity to benefit the local schools.

Happy Thanksgiving all! This morning I ran the 5 mile. Finished in 1 hour and 3 minutes. I will also be walking 5 more miles in another half hour.

Breakfast:
1 oatmeal with soy milk 200 cal
1 handful kettle corn 50 cal
1 coffee no cream, no sugar, no milk 30 cal

Lunch
1 oatmeal w/ soy milk 200 cal
1 bite protein bar: 50 cal

Dinner (expected)
1/2 cup mash potato 200 cal

Total calories (expected with dinner) about 730

Exercise calories burned: about 600

Nuts are a good way to boost calories for the day as is cereal and peanut butter/ Not going to keep lecturing you but find it very hard to read this diary without commenting on how little you're eating. One bite of a protein bar and half a cup of mash just seems obsessive. Why not have a whole cup as you know your calories are so low? Know you want to be "perfect" for your wedding but this seems a step too far.

Anyway, I hope you're having a good day. Sorry for lecturing.
