Advise on a Home Treadmill

I'm thinking of purchasing a treadmill for my basement at home, but all I've ever used are the treadmills at the gym so I don't really know much about them and which brands are the best. I just want to be able to use it to walk between 3.0-4.0 mph and try to work up to jogging 1 mile around 5.0-6.5 mph at most. Since this is my first treadmill at home, I don't honestly want to nor can I afford to spend a lot on it. Here are the treadmills I've been looking at. Any advise good or bad about any of them woudl be appreciated:

Weslo Cadence G40 Treadmill offered at Walmart.com for $287.00

Pro-Form 380E Treadmill offered at Sports Authority for $369.99

Weslo Cadence CT 4.8 Treadmill offered at K-Mart for $269.99

They all look pretty comparable, but thought I would see if anyone has or had used one and if anyone knew which one might be better than the other.

Thanks!

ProForm v. Weslo

ProForm and Weslo are manufactured by the same company, ICON Health & Fitness. Weslo is their lowest-price name. Both ProForm and Weslo could probably do it for you, but be aware that these are some of the lowest-priced treadmills available. If you spend a little more, you will see a big difference in quality. You can save money by buying online.

Hope that helps.

So true Robert. I have the Weslo Cadence M5, man it's a death trap! I'm still using it though, coz I bought it and it's sitting in my living room. The rolling band you run on keeps slipping sideways on high speeds. On 9.5 it turns into roller skating instead of running. lol

I agree that the more you invest, the happier you will be with your machine. We have a Nordictrack and have had it for 3+ years. I use it quite a bit, and have never had a problem with it. It's very nice.
If you plan to use one daily...spend a little more money and get one that will hold up to frequent use.

Love my elliptical!

I received an elliptical machine to test from TCES. It arrived without any brand badges, etc. on it, so I'm not sure who makes it, but it's a good one and I love it! Seems to work my legs better than the treadmill.
