Advice required for measurement

My friend and I are having a 'get in shape contest.' Our starting stats are:
me 25.2% body fat and 234lbs, him 19.3% body fat and 186lbs.

We want to know your opinion/advice on the fairest way to measure our contest. I thought that it would be equal to measure body fat % loss, he thinks I would have an advantage because I have more to lose. This contest is over a 3 month period.

Your thoughts please?

I'd say percentage of starting body weight lost since.. thats the only way I can really see it being somehow.. close to fair

the math goes

(100 / start weight) * end weight

so if you had lost 20 pounds it would be (100 / 234) * 214 = how much of your original weight you have left, in percentage.

the one with the lowest number would be the winner.

you could also, if you want to have a percentage of body weight lost result go

100 - ((100 / start weight) * 100) = percentage of weight lost

either one will work and be.. "fair"

I guess the real question is:

It is fair to compete on body fat % loss even though I start with a higher body fat %?

no no, not body fat %, total weight %.

body fat % is first of all incredibly hard to get precise measurements on, if you use the electrode foot plate things it depends a lot on water and such, if you use the squeeze things well.. that isn't exactly an exact science either.

So... percentage of complete body mass lost.. is the only fair thing
