*advice please*

i want to start doin regular exercises daily to help tone up and shift a bit of weight.....iv done the odd aerobics classes and once or twice on the exercise dvds, but i never really kept up with it.....as its a new yaer and new start i really want to start exercising and keepin up with it ready for the summer! im not really to sure on where to start as i have never really done much exercise and want to do it the rite way without over doing it or doing the wrong way?, do i do a few exercises a day? and how many? for how long? or shall i follow a exercise dvd? if i did how long do i need to be doing for starters and how and when do i start increasing time, lenght ect??....i really want to do this so any advice will really help me get started thankyou
