Hi I am new to the forum.

About 3 years ago I was abit of a big lad, 6ft 2 and just over 18 and a half stone. I am also naturally quite skinny so that was alot of weight to carry.

I decided to do something about and joined the gym and started eating healthier during the week. Over a 2 year period I lost just over 5 stone and weighed in at 13 stone 7.

However over the last 12 months, due to not going to the gym as much and eating less well I have slowly put a stone on.

3 weeks ago I decided to try and shed a stone before christmas, by doing exactly what I did last time - more excerise and healthy eating in the week, however this time it doesnt seem to be working.

I have had a weight loss programme designed by the gym which I do three times a week and is alot more intensive than what i was doing previous, I also go swimming once a week. I also eat well during the week, a typical day example - fruit or cereal for breakfast, a tin of soup for lunch, snacks of apple, banana and grapes through the day and then a healthy tea - last night was weight watchers lasange and salad tonight is grilled chicken and vegetables! No other food other than that.

Today was the end of the third week of doing it, so I weighed myslef and I have lost a total of zero pounds!! What am i doing wrong?

I know muscle weighs more than fat, but I am only doing cardio and I have noticed no change in my body or in how my clothes fit. I know it has only been three weeks but I would have thought I would have lost at least a pound!!

One thing you will learn after you have been dieting long enough, is that your weight will fluctuate from day to day, just based on things like water weight. Three weeks is too soon to panic. If you know how many calories you need to eat, and how many you are eating, it absolutely will show up on the scale in time. Also, even though you are only doing cardio, you are still building some muscle.
