advanced ex phys question

does anyone know the answer to this, or if you're still taking classes, can you ask a professor:

will someone with a calcium defficiency have trouble with resistance training due to a lack of calcium available to bind to troponin to produce a (sustained) muscle contraction?

Thanks in advance!

I asked this question to my professor 2 semesters ago, he said that if calcium intake is inadequate bones will demineralize bone to maintain normal blood Ca levels..

Nope, basically from what I understood, it will actually take Ca out of your bones and teeth to put into the blood. Hence you will be able to perform a good contraction, but if your Ca levels are constantly low, and you continue to demineralize bones for Ca they will become frail. Here I dug this up from an old powerpoint.. the science behind it all..

I'll test you on this next wednesday, lol..
